Spires and Dragon Ring Rebuilding Events Restart

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Game Updates & Maintenance, Live Events

The Spires and Dragon Ring Rebuilding events have relaunched, albeit reluctantly on some servers. For servers that had already surpassed 50% progress when the event was taken offline last week (Antonia Bayle and Freeport had reached 99%), they were rolled back to 50% to give other players on the server a chance to complete it. But it looks like this week’s changes to the events may not have done enough. After 12 hours, Antonia Bayle has already reached 69% completion on Spires.

So what changes were made to these events while they were offline?

From Amnerys on the EQ2 Forums:

Dragon Ring Event

  • Bouont Crushingfist should now correctly update the quest “Two Heads are Better than One.”
  • The quests given when entering the Dragon Ring area should no longer be removed when you leave the area.

Wizard Spire Event

  • The Wargcaller should no longer get stuck in combat.
  • The quests given when entering the Wizard Spire area should no longer be removed when you leave the area.

Both Events

  • In response to feedback, the percentage of progress for the event on each server has been rolled back somewhat in order to allow players more time to participate in the event. Servers that were further ahead were rolled back more than servers with lower progress.
  • The event merchants are now selling glacial mounts that can be used by adventurers as well as tradeskillers of any level, at a reduced price.
  • Corrected an issue which was causing the events to happen more often than they were intended to.
  • Health for the named encounters has been adjusted.
  • Harvestable tokens have been slightly increased.

Special Mount

Although perhaps the most popular reward for running the Spire and Dragon Ring rebuilding events have been Velium Shards to make heroic gear, which likely explain the extreme completion rates for the event thus far, another reward of interest has been a special mount.

At first, the mount was Adventure level 90 only and had Adventuring stats. During the event hiatus, this mount was removed from the Vendor and replaced with a mount that works for either level 90 Adventurer or level 90 Tradeskiller, but the stats were removed.

If you already got the 90 Adventure mount and can’t use it, and want to exchange it for the Tradeskiller one, Domino had this:

Please contact Customer Service via petition if you would like a refund for the old mounts (which do have stats but require level 90 adv) if you prefer to get the new mounts (which have no level requirement but also no stats).

Also once the event surpasses 50%, it may be necessary to delete your old event quest and get the new one. Again Domino explains:

I spoke to Gninja and he confirmed that when the quest stage rolled over to stage 2 (at 50%) if you still had the old quest from stage 1, you may need to delete the old quest as that may fail to update. If anyone having this issue could try this and confirm it would be good to get verification.

and a late night posting from Domino for those players who still wanted the previous mounts:

The original mounts are actually from Icy Keep and are still available in that zone, so you should be able to acquire them still if you do want.

We will be doing everything we can to address the issues that have been raised without disrupting the event any more than necessary. We’ll be posting another update on the event in the morning. Thanks for all the helpful feedback!

Pff, AB is slacking. Freeport was at 78% at the 12-hour mark, and is currently at 93%. It will be over well before 24 hours have passed since the event restarted.

Who actually runs Ice Keep retribution anymore to get that mount? I liked it being available … Sucks, but oh well you can just buy the sentinel’s fate disk off deepwater pavilion for stats and use the glacial as appearance ~

Or is it just kithicor/butcherblock/neriak/highkeep that is so deserted and has no one running icy keep retribution? lol
