LIVEBLOG: Webcast #2 Flying Mounts, Calendar, etc.

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Expansion News

This was a LIVEBLOG of the Destiny of Velious Webcast #2 (February 4th).

Chat today was originally going to be Itemization. Instead, it was about Flying Mounts.

  • Dave “SmokeJumper” Georgeson, Senior Producer EverQuest II
  • Greg “Rothgar” Spence, Lead Programmer EverQuest II
  • Moderator: Greg Aguis, Brand Manager (Marketing) for EverQuest II

Flying Mounts

This is a high level quest that when it is completed and a final step is completed, you get the mount. There are other flying mounts available such as different colors, Tradeskill mounts, Quested Mounts, also some flying mounts from raiding.

Freebloods will be able to fly with Swarm of Bats ability. This is a DIFFERENT quest line.

In-Game Calendar

This is an in-game calendar which will be populated with upcoming events such as Moonlight Enchantments, Guild events, etc.

Housing & Guild Halls

As more types of houses are added, some will be available SC, as drops, etc.

Public Quests

Group participation events. Events scale up and down.

Appearance Items Eating up Item Counts

We have ideas about how to fix this, but this is something we cannot announce yet.

Solo Content?

The end storyline of the expansion can be experienced solo. Raiding is pivotal. You don’t have to raid to experience things. Every dungeon has a Heroic version available.

Solo combat have more interesting abilities, more things to react to.

  • Point of interest system in maps. You are directed to areas on your map of where the quest update is.
  • You do not need to be grouped to participate in Public Quests. Great way for a solo player to jump in and get in combat. The longer you stick around and participate, the more and better rewards you get.

Level Range of Velious Pt 2?

To be absolutely honest, it will probably be aimed at the high level. However if we gain a ton of new players then we may look at spreading the content out over a range.

Wow, 21 minutes over and out. Webcast is concluded.
