As announced on this week’s EQ2 Insider webcast, this is a Double Guild XP Weekend! The event will run through 11:59pm Sunday night Pacific Daylight time.
EQ2 characters who complete writs, tradeskill work orders, completing certain quests, kill certain NPCs, or turn in status items receive Personal Status on their Character. 10% of that amount is also given to the character’s guild. For this Double Guild XP weekend, that amount doubles to 20%! Note that there is a rare Legends of Norrath-looted item which increases your normal amount to 11%. It’s unknown if that stacks this weekend.

The LoN item does have an effect…a 1000 status item contributes 309 to the guild with the event going on…
Keep in mind that the LON item isn’t 11% more, or 10% like the description of the item says, it’s just 1% more. I spent a year trying to get that blasted thing thinking it gave 10% more… but it’s 10% of your contribution, which is 10% of 10%, which is 1% added. :\ I was a sad panda the day I finally got that thing. 😥

Just to be clear, I as grumbling about the person who wrote the description on the LON loot card itself. =P Not grumbling about the article above. =P
I’m sure Feldon knows we all very much appreciate having EQ2wire here, particularly during recent events of difficulties/impossibilities many of us had trying to get to anything SOE related. lol
Maybe I haven’t been paying attention in the past, but does the bonus seem higher this time around? It looks to be triple the normal amount.
300 guild xp for every 1000 Status earned. And then it says there is a 200% server bonus. Isn’t it usually only 100% (double)?
Looks like members are getting 200% and everyone else gets 100%. Good stuff.
