Now if only they could post pics and info about the ce merc and tapestry. 🙂
Well they didn’t seem to have fixed the issue with copying to the beta server.
I can’t on either of my accounts. I copied my main over the other day, wanted to recopy and overwrite but it will not, can’t copy other characters on that account or my second. Multiple posts in the thread where a dev posted that it was fixed and to post here if having any problems, well there have been close to 20 posts stating they have problems and the best anyone can tell is they are completely oblivious to that.
@Lempo I haven’t had an issue /beta any of my toons. I’ve actually copied 5 of them w/o an issue at all. Unless something else is going on you might want to try again if you haven’t already.
Some on the the OForums found a issue with naming filers that was causing toons from being copied. IDK if that affects your toons or not. After the last patch I’ve been able to /bata and my toons are promptly copied over.
We are looking at the Beta copy issue. Seems to work for some and not others.
EBKAC problem, maybe?
I have had the same issue as Lempo when trying to copy over my characters to the beta. I have tried both /beta ingame and also clicked the beta copy button on character select. The characters will show up on the drop down menu on the game launcher but when I attempt to log onto any of those characters through the game launcher with beta selected as the version, it will give me an error saying that my server does not exist. If go to character select with beta version selected, no characters show up at all. A recommendation was made to create a character on the beta server and wait 15 min and your characters should show up but that has not worked either, so at this point I have no clue.
No you J/A it is anything but a PEBKAC issue. Instead of being the usual tool that you are why not go look at the post on the forums from the dev saying it was fixed and the multitudes of posts after it saying they were having issues.
For the others it shouldn’t be an issue with the naming filters, no names are even remotely similar to NPC’s nor in any way vulgar, suggestive etc.
The only thing I had not tried is the /beta command, I have used the link on character select (which worked for my initial copy). After Evlavios post I did the /beta got the same message I got when using the character select icon and 1.5 hrs later still nothing, maybe there is a huge backlog and they will show up.
Ok, figured it out I think. I just went to my BetaServer folder that was created and there was a file there named youracctname_characters. I deleted that file, restarted the launcher and hit the beta copy button and restarted the beta version and went to character select and my characters were there. Also stated above youracctname = your actual account name. Wasnt going to post mines of course.
I just want to know how the hide flying mounts work, there’s no command or such that I know of that helps with it.
I guess one of the devs grouped with an entire group of people on their shiny ST drakes, and saw how annoying non-hiding flying mounts was.
Also FYi, the close/hide works great
I sent lots of feedback about flying mounts over half a year ago and they just ignored it. However, I’m very happy to see it finally addressed.
3 fixes in one day. They must be really busy today
2 accounts and not one toon would copy over. LoL
Funny and I’m sure completely not exaggerated or self inflicted. Must suck being the focus of conspiracy. 😉 Beware the Ides of March….or have a Coke and a smile. I can’t remember which is the important message, if either.
I’m glad the guys finally allowed flying mount hiding…I’ve actually attacked every trash mob I could reach waiting around in a Griffin forest just so they’d disappear. I like the change. Two thumbs up, and a big red tomato!
I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to do BETA or wait for launch. However I tried to set up the BetaServer last night but ran into a problem. Perhaps someone here can advise.
My EQII folders are on a small fast drive with not much space left for a copy. The last Beta I took part on is on another drive. When I change from EU to Beta on the Launchpad it quickly tells me that I do not have enough room to proceed. I’ve tried changing the location but it doesn’t seem to help.
Open up the games Options window got to animation and its under there. You may have to have the advanced mode on.
Hmm, is there a new option for the flying mounts in the default UI? My fliers still show up on the ground. Maybe Profit UI needs an update.
Never mind, I had to zone first or switch toons to see the change.
The only change is that “Never Show” in:
Options–>Animation–>Render Mounts
now hides flying mounts as well as normal mounts.
Before you had to have “Hide During Combat” and wait until actually in combat before those huge ass flying mounts stopped showing.
Psst… Beta copy still has issues, but game crashes every time I try to log on the Beta server (it does show my toons, rechecking files).
But, double XP weekend http://www.everquest2.com/news/article?month=102012&id=51433
The official forums function like it’s being run by a mom and pop company with $5,000 of capital. Bravo, Sony.
@Avatox.. your problem may be related to DirectX. What worked for me and a number of other people I talked to with the same problem, was going to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 and downloading and installing DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer.
Not any better today, I couldn’t get signed in to it at all. It sits forever “connecting..” and then when it finally goes through, I’m not showing as signed in. Extremely frustrating!
