From Dave “SmokeJumper” Georgeson‘s twitter last night:
We have a new content strategy for EQ & EQII. Addresses much feedback you’ve given. I’ll do a DoD letter soon. You tell us how it sounds!

This could literally be anything.
DLC content via the SC Store the way Turbine does it, perhaps?
I bet it’s something like “We’ve heard your complaints that expansions are lacking in zones, so instead of spreading out new zones over the year, going forward we will only add new zones in expansions had have only feature updates in GUs between expansions.”
i wish they would make all instances auto level to what ever you group is. and the loot tables level. Then they could go back through ever instance and make these changes think of how much content that would open up.
i wish we could trio advanced solo… there is nothing to do in current content for 3 players.
Scaled versions of old zones, they’re doing that. New content strategy given few resources may put more creation potential in the hands of players (think degimped DM).
I’d be shocked if they didn’t converge their thinking toward their new flagship. Group think sets in and when you have a shiny new hammer (that’s earned a lot of kudos already) then everything looks like a nail.
They also have a lot of procedural AI they purchased for EQN, so we could be looking at more procedurally generated content, too. Dynamically generated dungeons could remove some zone running familiarity.
I hope to be amazed by their new content creation strategy; I’m reserved for now.
so can i buy a krono in eq2 and have all access ?
So despite all the complaints are about these stupid & frustrating teaser announcements with ‘details to follow’ following the subscriber changes announcement, SOE are still doing it. Super duper.
He didnt get Smed’s tweet about transparency yet haha
Everything is “soon” why doesnt he just shut his mouth until he has written his piece and then announce it lol
I’ve heard some rumors that this is not a drastic change, but in how things are presented to players.
