GU60: Adornments Get More Colorful

Written by Feldon on . Posted in DGC Wants Feedback, Game Updates & Maintenance, Itemization

We’ve been hearing about a new Adornments System in Game Update 60. System is perhaps too strong a word for what we’ve seen on Test. But the changes indeed help to visually distinguish adornments from other items which makes finding them in bags a lot easier.

Item Examine windows have seen a change, as adornment text has been replaced by subtle Adornment “badges” for each color the item supports. Adornments themselves have been given bold new icons which are unique, color-coded, and stand out from other items in both recipe books and inventory bags.

Your Feedback

Does this go far enough to make adornments easier to find and stand out among other items? Would you still like to see an Adornment Helper in-game that shows all the adornments and where they are available from?

I’m still convinced that they really should create a research filter in the merchant tab, to allow players to filter what they are looking for by slot.

Nice, but what do the different shapes mean? Why are there different shapes for Lesser and Greater adorns?

Do the shapes and sizes have meaning at all? If there is no point to the shapes and sizes, then get rid of them.

Why are the adorn slots in the Spaulders star-shaped (are there star-shaped adorns)?

I believe the shapes are consistent among adornments of the same type.

The “stars” you are seeing in the Spaulders are blank slots waiting for adornments.

“I believe the shapes are consistent among adornments of the same type.”

They don’t appear consistent. If you look at the top row, 2nd picture, 3 greater adorns have different shapes (square, shield, squished oval). Also, the Lesser Weaponry adorn has the same shape as the Greater Heightened Power adorn.

I guess I really wasn’t aware that people were too dumb to recognize the 8 or 9 different shapes that they used only for adornments were actually adornments, but /shrug big kudos for fixing another problem that didnt actually exist.
