Login Server / Launchpad Issues for November 2, 2015
Here is what most EQ2 players are seeing when trying to use the Launchpad to get into EverQuest II right now. Some are able to avoid the issue by starting the EverQuest2.exe client directly. Similar issues are being experienced by some users on the forums and Daybreak websites. More as we have it.
and from twitter:
Some additional issues with login servers have come up. We're working on it now. Sorry for the continued inconvenience.

Think this is getting ridiculous.
BTW on a side note, how does one stay logged into the official forums? I have never been able to have the official forum website hold my login information. Once I close the browser I need to login again and of course the authentication is down so I cannot post yet see lots of people post when login down. Every other website I go to holds my login. Normal cookies enabled. I use an ad-blocker (with eq2wire as an exception of course) but that’s it.

You can’t. They disabled that feature a while ago due to the hack that happened a few years ago. They seem to have no clue about security and think that it will fix the problem.

Ah ok. thanks for the info.
Funny thing though some people early on in this outage some people were able to get into EQ2 with the direct .exe for the game. That seems to me like it’s a vulnerability. I tried it and of course got a login that was rejected.
If only we knew where some good people who should work for Daybreak, I dunno maybe find a fan news and resource site that seems to work pretty flawlessly…

It’s not a vulnerability because you need to enter all of your credentials even when your run Everquest2.exe.
It’s not working for me either. :/

Probably got a bunch of “security consultants” involved who sell the same set of “security policies” to every company they consult and get exorbitant rates for it. You know, stuff like cryptic passwords that have to be changed every month and can never be reused, 15 minute session expiry timers, disable autologin, audit even test system access like it’s the bank of England etc.

I was able to log in about 9:30 PST and zoning even worked. Spent a few hours playing before attempting to switch to an alt about 12:15 PST and was met by the ‘..log in rejected … please enter valid login/ user id…’ GUI. Exited the game and tried restarting the Lanchpad twice. The first was met with a black background and blue colored text for the options. The second time I got a Launchpad that went straight to the green “PLAY” button without even seeing the normal User ID /Password screen; I killed the app and, well…..so now I’m wondering …. hmmm, yeah wondering

I can’t even log in to the eq2 forum, it just shows insufficient privileges. It is kind of sad that I am now trying for a week ++ to log in to beta and every single time I have an open day, something like this happens just a deja vu to last Thursday.

Part of the reason Launchpad has not been updated OR improved upon is SO long is that it is very difficult, obviously. Did we seriously think DB could mess around with it and make it work ? LOL (Derisive laughter).

Daybreak reported some time ago that everything is fixed. In actual fact it’s not for EQ2 with many unable to log in still.
Now they are saying “Some additional issues with login servers have come up. We’re working on it now. Sorry for the continued inconvenience.”
This is becoming a very amateurish joke now.

Yes I saw the tweet saying the game was up. Well waving hand in the air, I can’t login to the real forums. I can’t log into game, login rejected. Even going the old route of running the exe file does not work.
Does anybody have a clue of what is happening, are they under some form of hacker attack?

I’m sticking with the DBG Twitter feed, as it’s one where, so far, they’re responding/updating with decent frequency — like about 2 pm PST, for example.

Its too bad Daybreak won’t fix the un-subbed login issues that people are having with Maj’Dul and Halls of Fate. Un-subbed accounts can login to Freeport and the others, but not these two. When the queue grows too large all you get is a queue timer that grows every minute your in the queue and you can never actually login
