This just in from Smokejumper on the EQ2 Forums:
There are a number of things that we’re going to revisit on items:
a) The green stats matter. Progression of green stats will be attended to in the new pass.
b) There will be more variability between the value of stats on items. This was removed erroneously at the last minute. It will be returned. (Getting rid of the “all items have +29 STR on them in the same zone” effect.) There will be more “min/max-ability” on the items.
c) The dev team will be playing a lot over the weekend to assess item strength in the earlier zones. (Complaints we see are that low-leveled items are now overpowered.) Those zones had such outdated itemization previously that players are now seeing a huge increase in power in drops…we *think* at least partially because the items have been changed to be actually useful now. However, we’ll be assessing this over the weekend and then meeting first thing next week to discuss what will be done, if it’s out of adjustment.
NOTE: The items a, b, and c above will not affect the discussion of the balance of power between raids and the new heroic content. (Although “a” will have some affect on that.) That’s a separate discussion mostly.
ALSO PLEASE NOTE: These items will go to Test first. They are likely to be on Test before the end of the week (possibly even tomorrow). We *will* be listening to comments about them on the “In Testing” forum and responding to comments. Please *do* post if you test on that server.
lol…everyone knows that the EQ2 dev team doesn’t listen to anyone who posts feedback on test.
Largely depends on what it’s about, they do listen to some of the stuff, just the majority of it seems to largely fall on deaf ears.
Yes, the GH bug apparently fell on deaf ears. So we know what they will listen to. Stuff that doesn’t really matter.
The fact is SOE does not treat the Test server the way it should be. Because of their lack of apparent attention to what people are reporting fewer and fewer people are testing. It is snowballing (more bugs don’t get tested due to fewer people and fewer people are showing up to test bugs) because they have shown a constant tendency to completely overlook/brush aside feedback on that server. People are no longer going to waste their time with it.

Yeah right, we always complain about overpowered item… NOT
enuff said…
if you blow away a low-tier dungeon all solo with the new gear i wager a guess something is wrong…
Potency was not available until the Bloodthirsty Choker and Avatar gear. Crit Bonus is a fairly recent development. Crit Chance wasn’t available until Echoes of Faydwer endgame gear.
Handing out Crit Bonus, Crit Chance, and Potency at level 20-70 is trivializing low level dungeons.
The fact that they are relooking at the power of low level items gives me some hope, my brief strolls around level 30-50 dungeons at level soloing it all tells me the gear is badly wrong.
Potency roughly equals +CA damage, but the not in the amounts awarded, deleting crit bonus would be a good start sub level 86. Perhaps removing haste from most of it would be a good idea too. While they are at it a script to delete all the 0.1 stats would clean things up too.
Even with the bad itemisation people were OP compared to the content due to AA, if anything reitemisation should have been more nerfing then buffing.
One last thing that I do not like though, fabled gear at lower tiers, it seems to me that there was not left enough room for it hence its rather lacklustre (even sometimes worse) then legendary stuff….
It just worries me when they admit they are going to be tinkering with things again. Reminds me of guys doing some DIY project. Yes, that leftover bolt you had when you finished actually did matter.
Honestly I’d be more worried if they said they were happy with all the changes and were not going to change a thing.
It does not say good things though how it got released in this state, and I’m really expecting they’ll still leave the game with 80 levels of mind numbingly simple levelling to wade through until people can get to the real game seeing that most of the focus has been on the hardcore raiding on the forums and comments made at fanfaire. I hope I’m wrong.
I balme Wow for starting it but too many games designers seem to think making their games easier will get a bigger audience.
The stats for low lvl items are badly op. We are killing heroic content in dungeons w/ little challlenge. Healers are going to become less needed than they already are. I really like the lvl’ing & low lvl content not just getting to end game. I hope they correct this.
