Time for our Tuesday Wednesday update notes from the EQ2 Forums. If you were following EQ2Wire, you already filled every slot of your bank with 2 copper shinies to sell for status. For everyone else — this is why you can’t find cheap shinies on the broker…

Perma hasn’t had cheap shinies since the collector box went in, so this won’t change that (seriously, I saw 1 person selling a dozen for 60sp and I snatched them up, otherwise they start at a gold). The adornments are a surprise – I hope that means all the no trade ones filling up my bags!
Wonder where the merchants will be, I guess I’ll have to leave the guildhall 😉

Really? Valor has lots and lots of shinies going for 7-50 cp. The sebilis collections for example are worth nothing except for the rare ones.

Oh, didn’t see the adornment change the first time through.
Astral lessers – 50SP +guild XP
Rune: AE (purple) – 10,000SP +guild XP
Rune: Fighter’s Potency – 10,000SP +guild XP
Spirit of the Jester – 25,000SP +guild XP
Truespirit’s Legacy (Red) – no status
Both adornments and collectables are No Buy Back now.

Much to my disappointment, no Heirloom or No Trade adornments are worth status. Bah and Humbug. At least all the white ones I made leveling up can be sold though.

Maybe i’m an outlier here, but just logged in after getting home from work and I instantly see the following effects from this change…
ALL collectibles that i previously bought from broker have jumped 5 – 10 fold in price. (I buy wood elf bones to use for appearance)
Forerunner’s Cognizance & Forerunner’s Magnitude have jumped 10 fold in price…
I get it… you can get Status from these items now… neat. However that just threw the price on many of the items i use through the roof!
I don’t get to play that often… after work raiding here & there when i can. I barely have enough plat to cover what i do buy and now all the prices jumped 🙁
again, maybe im an outlier, but i’m not sure this was thought out as much as it should have been.
ps. why are temporary adornments able to be sold for status? i don’t get it oh well

i’ll amend my comment to say that my experience may be specific to AB Server… as i look on Permafrost, i don’t see much change at all. Of course Permafrost has been mysteriously vacant as of late.

Perma jumped too — but mostly it’s that all the cheap adorns and shinies vanished. Shinies went from the cheapest being 1gp, to the cheapest 5gp. I don’t think low level adorns will take much of a hit because the status is tiered the same way dropped status items are.
For weeks there’s been a bunch of dropped purples out there at 1pp and those are all gone, cheapest I saw yesterday was 24pp! But I don’t think anyone repriced, it’s more that everything ‘cheap’ was cleared out.
