Server Consolidation: Splitpaw, Storms, & Valor – Monday, April 18 @ 9AM PDT

Splitpaw, Storms, and Valor servers are being consolidated into a new server named Thurgadin. The server consolidation will start on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 9AM PDT (17:00 CEDT). This downtime is expected to take 24 hours, and Thurgadin is scheduled to unlock to players at Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 9AM PDT (17:00 CEDT).
Important Notes for Players:
- Players should pick up No-Trade items from shared housing (such as Guild Halls) BEFORE this downtime. This will prevent losing ownership of placed items during server consolidation.
- When the consolidation is complete on Tuesday, players should delete their “logincache-eu” folder or else LaunchPad character logins may fail.

Downtime für die Server-Zusammenführung: Splitpaw (Spaltpfote), Storms (Stürme), & Valor – Montag, 18. April um 09.00 Uhr (PDT)
Die Splitpaw, Storms und Valor-Sever werden zu dem neuen Server mit dem Namen Thurgadinzusammengeschlossen. Die Server-Zusammenführung wird am Montag, den 18. April 2016 um 17.00 Uhr (CEDT) beginnen. Diese Downtime wird wahrscheinlich 24 Stunden dauern und es ist geplant, dass Thurgadin die Spieler am Dienstag, den 19. April 2016 um 17.00 Uhr (CEDT) freischaltet.
Wichtige Hinweise für Spieler:
- Spieler sollten die Kein-Handel-Gegenstände aus den geteilten Häusern (sowie Gildenhallen) herausnehmen, BEVOR die Zusammenführung passiert. Dies wird verhindern, dass das Eigentum dieser platzierten Gegenstände während der Zusammenführung verloren geht.
- Wenn die Zusammenführung am Dienstag abgeschlossen ist, sollten die Spieler ihren Ordener “logincache-eu” löschen. Es kann nämlich sonst sein, dass die Charakter-Logins fehlschlagen.

Les serveurs Splitpaw, Storms, et Valor se consolident en un nouveau serveur nommé Thurgadin. La consolidation du serveur commencera le Lundi 18 Avril 2016 à 17h CEDT. Le temps d’arrêt devrait prendre 24h, et Thurgadin sera disponible pour les joueurs le Mardi 19 Avril 2016 à 17h CEDT.
Notes importantes pour les Joueurs:
- Les joueurs devraient prendre les objets non-échangeables de leur maison partagée (comme les Salles de Guilde) AVANT ce temps d’arrêt. Ceci empêchera la perte des objets placés pendant la consolidation.
- Lorsque la consolidation sera terminée, mardi, les joueurs devront supprimer le dossier “logincache-eu” ou bien la connexion des personnages via le LaunchPad ne fonctionnera pas.

Commentary
A rather glaring omission from this announcement and the Server Merge Frequently Asked Questions is that after April 18, it will no longer be possible to play EverQuest II in French or German. All the thousands of quests, items, recipes, NPC conversation, spells, etc. will be accessible exclusively in English. There are many residents of France and Germany who are not fluent in English.
Une omission plutôt flagrante de cette annonce et la fusion Server Foire aux questions est que, après le 18 Avril, il ne sera plus possible de jouer EverQuest II en français ou en allemand. Tous les milliers de quêtes, objets, recettes, NPC conversation, sorts, etc. seront accessibles exclusivement en anglais. Il y a beaucoup de résidents de la France et de l’Allemagne qui ne sont pas couramment l’anglais.
Ein eher eklatantes Versäumnis von dieser Ankündigung und dem Server Merge Häufig gestellte Fragen ist, dass nach 18. April wird es nicht mehr möglich sein, Everquest II zu spielen Deutsch oder Französisch . Alle Tausende von Quests, Gegenständen, Rezepte, NPC Gespräch, Zaubern, etc. werden ausschließlich in englischer Sprache zugänglich sein. Es gibt viele Bewohner von Frankreich und Deutschland, die nicht fließend Englisch sind.

Strange thing ! the only one server merge without a poll for the server name is the one concerning the merging of the European servers.
Are we really so unimportant in the eyes of Daybreak Games?

Thurgadin is not a bad name, but I’d have preferred if there had been a choice. Plus, it doesn’t fit the established naming scheme for merged servers. Thurgadin is from DoV not TSO…

As to why they didn’t have a poll this time, I heard “no matter what we name them, people will complain”. Actually we disliked the last server name choices because they were zone names (generally eq2 zone names aren’t as inspiring as mob names) and the winning choices had spaces and punctuation in them.

Well if DBG don’t like the players choice of names, they juste have to give a list of names that they found acceptable and then let the players choose one. At least that would show a minimum of respect to their player base.

13,250 unique characters logged in on Valor this year.

With the census, you can “read” the hours played? will be a more accurate statistics. 😀

That’s pretty low for Storms indeed. It was always the less populated of the 3 anyway, so it makes sense. Difference is massive between Storms and Valor.

Although doesn’t British Summer usually fall on one or two days of the year? 😛
The USA has five time zones.
