UPDATE at 4:00pm PDT (23 Oct @ 0:00 BST; 1:00 CET) from RadarX:

Everything we are seeing from our end and from talking with players indicates this particular issue has been resolved. If you still are seeing significant load times for zones, please begin a new thread. Thanks!

UPDATE at 5:00pm PDT (22 Oct @ 1:00 BST; 2:00 CET) from RadarX:

Unfortunately there were some hardware issues that were only affecting the EU servers. The problem surrounding this hardware has been identified and it is being replaced as soon as physically possible. An interim solution has been rolled out which should resolve the issue until a permanent fix can be made.

Original article:

On Friday, issues were reported with the EU EQ2 servers, namely Valor (DE), Splitpaw (UK), and Storms (FR). Zoning times were up to 10 minutes, characters were reported missing, and some zones were simply unavailable. Despite initial success with bringing servers back up, the problems have continued over the weekend, with server mini-rollbacks erasing character progress, players stuck in guild halls, and more zones being entirely unavailable.

This issue is being discussed on the EQ2 Forums in these threads:

I’ve reached out to EQ2 Community Manager RadarX and he had this response:

We are currently investigating the ongoing issues EU customers may be experiencing.  Our team is doing everything they can to resolve the issue as soon as possible and certainly appreciates everyone’s patience.

By the way, while ProSieben assumed responsibility for EU customer accounts earlier this year, all EQ2 servers are still managed by SOE Ops team and if past experience is any guide, this problem is absolutely on SOE’s radar and not affected by ProSieben. Updates as we have it.

    Feldon –

thanks for this – I was begining to think SOE had abandoned us. Except for the money, of course 🙂

No response from any CSR, except once on one thread to say it was being fixed. And that was on Saturday! Splitpaw is better, but we still have missing zones, 5-second freezes, aad 3 or 4 server resets today. Not good, nad no news makes it worse.

Rumour is that the Euro servers are hosting Beta….

I doubt that beta is hosted in Europe, i was on beta all weekend and it was running fine. The silence is the worst part, just coming out and addressing the players would go along way.

Feldon, the same response I got from radarx on forums and twitter on Friday. Sinca Friday nothing has changed and zoning still takes forever. Problem is that sometimes after zoning you are unable to join groups, loosing spells/ca or even UI. Strange things are happening.
I had to cancel 2 raids already as ppl were stuck on zoning over 15 min and some lost connection and were not able to come back.
    It is frustrating.

Hmmm, hardware issues.. I work in the industry, if its broke, replace it.
It doesnt take 5+ days to replace a router or server rack piece.
    Something aint right here.

Interestingly, when I posted something very much along these same
lines in the eq2 official forums, and it was not abusive or bad language
it was deleted, yet other posts that havent been that are pretty much
Yelling at Soe to fix there mess have not been deleted. I must have hit
    a nerve.

and to forestall any questions… here is the original post and response:

    Hello Steeledriver,

This message is to inform you that I have removed your comment below for being nonconstructive. When posting, make sure your comments abide by SOE policy.

    Thank you,

I work in the industry.. (Electronics and what not). If its taken them 4 days to determine what the problem is and another 24 hrs to attempt to fix it and fail…. Myself, I would fire the company providing support personnel as they show they cannot perform the tasks required of them.

The only delays I have in fixing machines is getting a new part to site, and my machines are specialty ones with a next day delivery from either in country or from china or other countrys sometimes and I still get the part next day.

Whats their exscuse for industry standard Server and Network equipment?

I saw the response from RadarX as I was waiting to zone in. I filled the kettle, made tea, let it brew, got milk, poured tea, let tea cool a bit, drank tea (all while still waiting to zone) and then went back onto the Forums and politely started a new thread, as RadarX had closed the old one (“all sorted out”…).

Splitpaw is still borked. We’ve lost five days of play now, not to mention a lot of patience. This is simply not good enough.
