EQ2Wire Guide: Velious Chestpieces
There are several options to upgrade your character’s Chest slot in Velious without raiding. There are now three questlines in Velious that offer Chestpieces, including the Othmir quests, the Flying Gryphon questline, and the new Thrael’Gorr quests introduced in Game Update 61. Public Quests have also offered a Chestpiece for those who are either extremely lucky or extremely patient.

Why ToFS x2?
The Chestpiece drops from Velious dungeons gradually increase in power as does the difficulty of the dungeons they hail from. You may wonder why we’ve included the Tower of Frozen Shadow x2 raid in our table. This is largely because another group zone on our table, the Temple of Rallos Zek HM (Hard or Challenge mode) requires raid gear, and rewards a Chestpiece with a red adornment slot. Further, the Tower of Frozen Shadow x2 raid is now being run almost daily by single groups of very well-geared folks. Finally, the ToFS x2 Chestpiece is arguably a step down from the Drunder: Tower of Tactics Chestpiece. For all these reasons, we include ToFS x2 in our list.
The Temple of Rallos Zek HM (Hard Mode) Chestpieces thoroughly thrash all of the other options on our list for most if not all classes. For one thing, they’ve borrowed the Class Focus from the raid/fabled chestpieces, as well as picking up a Red adornment slot. Great power comes with high mender bills, and Zek HM is something that most people aren’t even attempting at this point.

still scratching my head why the EM ToRZ chest is better than the ToT one outside of the proc… hopefully its adjusted at some point considering the level of difficulty of the zone vs ToRZ
I agree with onodi, I do ToRZ like every day, but there is no way in hell I can do ToT without a group of people in damn near all EM raid gear. It should atleast have a class focus on it.

I never did get the last named in the Drunder X2 down, is there a BP in the drunder X2?

Queen Vorticia V’uul drop BP patterns.
The BP patterns is called Inexorable.
An example is the Fury BP, Stormbringer’s Tunic of the Citadel
It has Primary Stat (Wis) +130 and Crit Mit 37.1
Yes, there is a BP from the last named in DrunderX2. It is, however, pretty much the same as the heroic Zek BP but has a red adorn slot instead of yellow.
Most raids don’t even try to kill it even if they can because the upgrade is so extremely marginal.
The dumb part is, you need PQ gear to survive doing the quests in the outdoor DoV zones; or the GU61 updated gear from the previous expansion.
The first two pieces are basically irrelevant.
you are forgetting the heroic temple HM, it is the second best and has a focus and a red slot… all from a heroic zone
The Temple of Rallos Zek HM chestpiece has your Class focus, a Red adornment slot, and beats the pants off Drunder ToT and the TOFS x2 chestpiece. Of course ToRZ HM is one of the hardest instances in the game at this point and only those in full EM raid gear with perhaps some HM raid gear are attempting it.

Unless things have changed (again) the small Palace of Sabaron drops a chest piece. When I ran it the first day, it dropped a 20.0 crit mit CP, with proportional stats, and a minor proc. I rated it Othmir quested + minor proc.
I’d heard it got nerfed, so ran the first named again a week later, and found it to be 15.6 crit mit, making it below Othmir quested on your chart.
The zone stats are 100/100, nerfed from 110/100 opening day stats. Using the normal proportions of other armor pieces to the CP in a set, the 15.6 chest projects to about 68 total crit mit full set of armor. Ergo, you need a set of armor of 100 crit mit to farm as set of 68, in this “new” dungeon.
I can’t figure out where this dungeon goes into the progression. Zone bonuses (and the fact that it’s 5 months past DOV launch) eliminate the likelihood that it’s a starter zone, while the extremely low stats shout that it’s an alternative to questing Othmir. For the moment I’ve labeled it transmuter heaven, as the 3 names drop 6 items, and it’s trivial to run, zone bonuses or not.
They nerfed all the Ry’Gorr quested BPs down to 15% and also the sabaron’s palace BPs down to 15%…..

I have finally obtained the drunder x2 chest bp which stats are higher then the torz Hm and proc is different as it doesnt not have the triple shot focus, however a 10% increase in cast and reuse has been great so far it improved my overall dps

Spire BP’s are slightly ‘better’ than ToRZ EM …
That makes NO sense to me… The progression in this game is skewed
Solo / Group EM / RAID EM / Group HM / RAID HM
How do we move to Group HM without going through RAID EM? Not possible, SOE has now forced progression through group and raid.
And this page is useless now since the BP’s have changed drastically.
