Seems this began about 9:15 AM PDT. Some were able to get in and stay on while others, like myself, received the following error:
Unable to fetch the EULA before trying to install EverQuest II Streaming. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and try again.
Error Code: 2
As of 2:29 CST, I still cannot log in.

The only rumour I’ve read is something about a hacker group having some beef about not being allowed to hack PS3’s legally.
Of course they’re anonymous, which is a shame since if I had an address I’d like to play some games with their members, sort of Saw like games 😉

EQ2 servers are up and have been accessible for quite a while.

Patch servers aren’t though, so you need to load EQ right through the .exe to get in to the game (most people will be greeted with a Can’t load EULA message or something like that)

Sony on Kotaku:
“While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we’re able to get the service completely back up and running”

When I try to load direct from the EXE file I get some sort of shader error or something.

Amazon servers brought several other websites down today. I wonder if EQ2 websites were adversely affected by this? Think it has something to do with Amazon ads.

I hope they give us a few extra days of the free flying mount to make up for it.

This is completely unacceptable.
A random networking problem shutting down all SOE games is horrible any way you look at it.Gamers associated with Free realms and any other games they created are either outraged, bored or disappointed at the time this reboot has taken. Myself included. There should be a good explination for this.

Etruscus – yeah, I keep my launcher up all the time so I don’t have these problems I guess.
I was mostly commenting on the headline that said the games were down. EQ2 is for a fact NOT down.

As far as I know, EQ and EQ2 were online, although some users had Patcher issues. It was mostly the Forums, some Commerce systems, etc. that were inaccessible.
