April 20 2010 Hotfix Notes: Research Assistants

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Game Updates & Maintenance, Itemization, Raiding

Today’s Hotfix grants Research Assistants the ability to research for all of your characters at once, instead of just one per account. Also included are tweaks to the UsabilityOnPlayer macro command, some adjustments to the Labs SF raid zone, and a change to the Focus: Death March adornment so that its effects are different between PvP and PvE.

We’ve been advised that some Database maintenance will be performed at the same time, so the Hotfix and associated downtime may exceed 1 hour.

April 7, 2010 Patch Notes

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Itemization, PvP/BG/Proving Grounds, Raiding

Today’s Hotfix include some anticipated tweaks to Itemization and Battlegrounds, such as resists and fixes to adornments. It also includes a cutback in the amount of damage put out by the 3-headed dog in The Vigilant: Final Destruction x2 raid zone. Even during the Beta, this particular mob was completely out of progression for the difficulty of the zone, gear players are expected to have at this point in the expansion, and intended audience of the zone.

Today’s Hotfix notes for March 16th, 2010. Yellow Adornments also made it in, but they’re not in the notes…

March 2nd 2010 Hotfix & EQ2Wire On the Road

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Game Updates & Maintenance, PvP/BG/Proving Grounds

Battlegrounds Issues

Battlegrounds were taken offline last night due to zoning problems they seemed to be causing on other servers. I want to reiterate that in thousands of Battlegrounds transactions, only a handful of players experienced corruption of their characters, and those are being resolved quickly by Customer Service. Battlegrounds should be brought back online today with Rothgar and other devs closely watching their performance.

EQ2Wire On the Road

EQ2Wire will be on the road today and tomorrow so updates may be a bit slower than usual.

Here are your March 2, 2010 Hotfix notes (after the jump)

Test Server is back online!

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Game Updates & Maintenance

Players who do all of their gameplay on Test (and work hard to find and report any bugs they find) were rather concerned about the idea that Test would be down for “a couple of days”. Fortunately, Windslasher has reported in:

Test is now unlocked. Thanks for waiting!

Glip the Gnome also chimed in:

The Test Server is open and ready for business. We just wanted to be super careful that the potential corruption issue relating to battlegrounds affected as few characters as possible.

Antonia Bayle, Bazaar, and Sebilis came up after approximately 3 1/2 hours. We’ll see a similar situation on Thursday when the servers come down for another hotfix (possibly patching Battlegrounds) but Butcherblock, Lucan D’Lere, and Nagafen will be down for additional time. We’ll let you know when we have more exact downtimes.

  • Sinking Sands quests should now scale to the difficulty of the zone.

December 10 2009 Hotfix

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Game Updates & Maintenance

The servers are coming back up after scheduled maintenance, patching in Frostfell, and more importantly, fixing some bugs introduced by Game Update 54:

GENERAL

  • You can no longer summon players to the tutorial islands with Call of the Veteran.
  • Captain Varlos in the Queen’s Colony and Outpost of the Overlord will no longer offer safe passage to the opposing city to you if you should not be there!
  • The Six Year Veteran rewards are now no-value.
  • Most Wanted Posters are no longer affected by spell reuse buffs.

Just FYI, the main 2 reasons people want to travel to the Queen’s Colony, Outpost of the Overlord, etc.  are they want to complete the quests there, or more importantly, they want a decent choice of deity for their class.
