Double XP Days ~ Dec 27-30

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Live Events

SOE are trying something new with their EQ2 Bonus XP this time around. Past Bonus XP events have taken place over a weekend or during the holidays which has been good for some players, but not so good for others who are visiting family or working over the weekend. So this time around, the Bonus XP event is a Double XP Weekendish.

From SmokeJumper on the EQ2 Forums:

We’re  doing Double XP Days from Dec 27th (Monday) to Dec  30th  (Thursday). Most of you will be shocked to hear that we’re doing  Double  XP not actually on one of the holidays and on weekdays instead of weekends. Don’t fall down in shock. SMILEY

Of course some players are not happy with the new arrangement. I’m not sure they could do an XP bonus event that would appeal to all players without running it for 2 weeks. I predict (educated guess) we’ll see some type of XP bonus in the days or weekend before Velious launches.

Double XP Weekend and Darklight Wood (Neriak) City Festivals Draw to a Close

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Art, Appearance, Housing, Live Events

Today marks the end of not only a very lucrative Double XP weekend for both my tradeskillers and adventurers, but also the close of the Neriak City Festival in Darklight Wood.

A selection of paintings from Notable Norrathians and the Heroes Festival.

A key addition to the City Festival were the Notable Norrathians player-submitted in-game paintings. If you have not yet looked at or bought any of these paintings, take your City Tokens to Darklight Wood (druid ring or run from Nektulos Forest). These paintings can be placed in your house or guild hall, and do not have the status cost and guild level requirements of the 5th anniversary Heroes Festival paintings.

Double XP weekend concludes at 10:00am PDT (1:00pm EDT, 19:00 GMT+1).

City Festival concludes on 2010.09.07 at Midnight PDT (2010.09.08 3:00am EDT, 2010.09.08 9:00 GMT+1).

Seeing Double for July 4th Weekend

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Daybreak Cash, Live Events

From the EQ2 Forums:

This weekend, from 4pm Pacific on Friday, July 2nd (23:00 GMT) until 10am Pacific on Tuesday, July 6th (17:00 GMT), we will be running BOTH a Double Station Cash promotion *and* a true Double XP (+100% XP) promotion.

We’ve gotten clarification that this is:

Double Adventure XP

Double Tradeskill XP

Double Alternate Advancement (AA) XP

Double StationCash

A StationCash Card Reminder:

The only StationCash cards currently available for purchase are branded as FreeRealms cards with StationCash value. Do not buy EverQuest II gameplay time 30 day cards (if you can even find them), they will not work.

Also, it appears there is a glimmer of hope that we may finally see some movement on European solutions for StationCash cards.
