Missing Character Graphics, 1 FPS Frame Rate After Today’s Patch

We are monitoring a situation where some players who use the streaming client are experiencing non-rendering (invisible) Character and NPCs and extreme rendering lag after today’s update. Others cannot even zone their character into the game, getting stuck with a “Loading UI Resources” error. There’s a discussion on the EQ2 Forums. The developers are aware of this issue and investigating.

UPDATE from Discord as of 8:45am PST:

We’ve got a process running that should correct the issue with the bad data being on some of the patchers, may take about an hour.

In-Game Update from Gninja:

If you are having issues with extreme lag and art not loading please logout and rerun patcher and check the Full Download on the Select Game Version screen. Then Validate Game Assets. We are looking into it still though. We are running a process that should correct the missing data on some of the patch servers. It may take about an hour to fully run.

Update as of 1:00pm PST: Buffs are crashing zones. The more buffs, the more crashes. Public Quests and Raids are basically impossible right now. Servers will come down later today to fix this issue.

    To switch back to streaming, In your launchpad.ini file you need to remove the lines options=full:1
    and
    digestUrl=http://manifest.patch.station.sony.com/patch/sha/manifest/lp4/live/gamelauncher/eq2/live-full.sha.soe

    Downloading the entire 20 gig game should fix this mess should it ? FFS, Crap like this shouldn’t happen! Period!

    Sorry, but I do not have anything like that in my Lauchpad.ini file as it has never been touched (last update 6/18/2013) …. and I am also seeing a ghost world.

    Just re-entered the game via character select — things seem normal again.

    There’s more going on as well.

    Our raid and others on Thurgadin keep losing our connection and getting kicked whenever we start fighting. I’m not using the streaming client, and afaik most other people aren’t either.

    @feldon is there any news on why the scouts back attacks are graying out when targeting through the tank or any other player. is this something that daybreak decided to implement? or is it a major bug?

      This should have been fixed with this update. It should use the pass-through target if you have your tank targeted now.

    I wonder if anyone noticed the microsoft cumulative patch thursday morning. I was introduced to it after finding my motion control of my character turned off and then attempting to restart my PC in an attempt to fix it. It appears that the microsoft patch interfered with gameplay and that by completing the patch and rebooting the PC corrected the issue. But this is simply a unfortunate coincident and the actual cause is not clear since I did not have to repatch the EQII client after finishing downloading and installing the microsoft patch and rebooting the PC. Microsoft has in the past issued patches that affected gameplay … for instance some .NET fixes in 2011/12 affected how character data was parsed. just saying.
