Status: 8/16/2016 11:40 PDT – The game is currently down for scheduled [sic.] patching.

Update: Servers are now back up after 1 hour 45 minutes of patching.

Previous updates…

Update: 90 minutes and servers are still down for this unscheduled maintenance.

Update from Twitter 30 minutes after servers went down:

All EverQuest 2 servers have come down for unscheduled maintenance to address an important technical issue. Downtime should be minimal.

I was told this was due to another plat exploit on live. Anyone that can confirm?
