Meet Luperza, EverQuest 2’s New Community Manager

Written by Feldon on . Posted in EQ2

With the news that Eric “Piestro” Cleaver (current EverQuest Community Manager and, for a brief time, Community Manager for EQ2) is leaving SOE, there has been a shuffling of responsibilities. Margaret “Luperza” Krohn (community manager for Planetside 2) will be swapping with Tony “RadarX who has been EQ2’s community manager since last August.

From the EQ2 Forums:

Salutations Norrathians,

Today I put aside my guns and purple lumifiber armor, picked up a sword and dagger, and grabbed my Journeyman’s Cloak! I think this means I am ready for questing, great PvP battles and raid bosses much larger than me. Right? Okay…Probably not, but I do have a new title that I am proud to wear – EverQuest 2 Community Manager.

xx

Some of you may know me from past Fan Faires and SOE Lives, or from a variety of other places on the internet. I’m an avid gamer, streamer, anime and comic fanatic, and lover of esports, cute creatures and other things (yes, that says “other things” – deal with it).

SOE Origin Story
I’ve been working in the game industry for over six years now. I’ve helped launch three titles for SOE as a Game Designer. For the past year, I have been working on the SOE Community Team on PlanetSide 2 which has taught me so much about the intricacies of building, maintaining and being part of a community. I’m on an ever quest to create and cultivate better gaming communities and I hope you will all play a great part in that mission!

EQ2 and Me
As far as EverQuest 2 goes, I have been an avid EverQuest 2 player since way before I ever worked at SOE! I’m a bit of an alt-a-holic and I enjoy multi-boxing my whole group. Call me anti-social, but I call it efficient! I currently have a level 95 Defiler, Shadowknight, Dirge, Coercer, Inquisitor, Wizard and Paladin. I’ll be making a new public character that I hope to play with all of you!

So any guilds looking for a deadly Dirge with mad skills?

Blogs, Streams, Videos and Social Fun
Along with my normal communication duties, such as the EverQuest 2 WebsiteForumsFacebookTwitter and Google+, I’ll be consistently updating my EverQuest 2 wikia blog as soon as I figure out how that formatting works. Hehe. =D I’m planning to use this blog to let you know about my adventures in Norrath and what’s going on behind the scenes here at SOE. If you have any other ideas, feel free to send them my way!

Also, I’ll be doing some fun streams either on my own channel or an official EverQuest 2 channel TBD, as well as some new EQ2 YouTube videos! I’d love to know what kind of content you’d be interested in seeing or being a part of.

What of RadarX?
You can catch RadarX’s adventures over on Auraxis in PlanetSide 2!

Now, I shall read all your lovely posts in response! (Right there will only be lovely ones?! =])

Cheers to many adventures and memories together,

Margaret “Luperza” Krohn
EverQuest 2 Community Manager

Not a personal attack, but is someone who boxes a full group really in touch with the rest of us?

I’m not trying to be funny, but unfortunately that is mostly what I see out there in EQ these days if self-boxed groups.

      Piestro will be missed.

The “rest of us”? Don’t speak for me. I’m a multi-boxer and love that she is too.

Just cause she doesn’t play the game “your way” then she is out of touch?

      I don’t ONLY box! I solo, group and raid. Don’t worry. 😛

All I can say is welcome to the EQ2 Family. I hope they enjoy Role Play and is just as friendly as RadarX and the past ones I’ve worked with!

I do my fair share of role playing and I’m even on a webshow where I do that called Roll Play R&D! I’d share a link, but not sure how EQ2Wire feels about that. 🙂

Oh, no… not good news for me since my husband has read me her posts and interactions on PS2 and she is just out of touch.

Sad you feel that way. Might you give me an example of a post and explain how that shows I am out of touch with the PlanetSide 2 community?

Though I am a little behind on EQ2 info, I’m quickly getting back into the fray by spending a ton of my free time playing EQ2 and catching back up on it all. Soon I’ll be doing some public dungeon groups and what not and I welcome you all to play with me. 🙂

Aww… Come on now! That’s not the ONLY type of playstyle. I do solo, group and raid content. If you’ve seen any of my videos and what nots in the past, I’ve always had a ton of fun grouping with people.

    Wait what?
The EQ Community Manager leaves and so they swap the PS2 and EQ2 managers? What kind of reasoning is that? OK it might make sense to swap these two for all sorts of reasons, but Piestro leaving EQ (and SOE) is not one of them, it is a reason to replace the EQ Community Manager.

When someone leaves, we evaluate our team and figure out where people need to go. I’ve been on PlanetSide 2 for 3+ years, I was happy to take on a new challenge. RadarX was the original PlanetSide 2 CM. I also LOVE EQ2, so it’s going to be a lot of fun being able to publicly hang out with people.

I play quite a bit as is and some of you may have grouped with me and not even known it! =P (Note, I don’t just box my group. I only do that if there’s no one to group with or for efficiency’s sake when I am in a hurry.)

Most people who multi box have had one too many bad pick up groups and for sanity and efficiency sake they found a way that works better for them. If I had enough interest and time to many my own multi box group I would certainly do it.

Yeah, PUGing can be interesting. I like the challenge normally. 🙂 When I’m boxing it’s due to efficiency as you stated. It’s usually when I’m in a hurry to get past content because I don’t have much time to play and I can’t find a group easily for the content I am trying to accomplish. <3
