The Thanksgiving holiday falling just after an expansion is always a pain. Just when we need those Tuesday/Thursday updates the most, the fixes start to thin out, or are postponed. But for those who have been waiting patiently (and even if you haven’t), the time is finally here for the post-Chains of Eternity Mega Patch. Tomorrow’s update contains a ton of fixes to issues that have been brought up repeatedly in /bug, here, and on the forums.

The updates include:

  • [eq2u]Call of the Veteran[/eq2u] is back working as it was before.
  • Jarsath Wastes Sokokar Trainers are back.
  • Gathering Goblin produces less rares, particularly roots.
  • Trichromatic Adornment Removers that will remove Yellow, Red, and Green adornments have been added as Tinkering recipes. This is in addition to the existing adornment removers which can remove yellow, red, or combinations thereof.
  • Spirit Stones (green adornments) now have better in-game display.
  • Items made with Refined materials, or which have been Experimented upon can now be linked in channel. Further, they now display correctly (instead of just showing the base item) when listed on the Broker.

I hope this will also affect chars who already did the quest… my coercer has done it but did not get the faction due to the group bug. It won’t help otherwise, as you can’t repeat the quest if you’ve already solved it…

The change to how green adorns are displayed are welcome. Right now it looks like a spreadsheet that you have to manually sum in your head.

I see the ‘Fix’ for Throne of Fear (Heroic) didn’t go in, if the notes are to be believed. Grind it while you can, folks, that sucker’s ‘fixed’ on Test, so you know it gets the Nerfbat of Doom next week…

The Green adorns that require you to take damage to level them are basically broken. I’ve killed thousands of mobs that give me the notification that it’s leveling. At least 20 instances and over 20 hours of getting beat on as a tank and has only gone up 10% of the 1st level. My other adorns some were maxed out in the same time frame. The ones using “combat arts” to level them are also leveling poorly but not nearly as bad as the tank ones.

At the current rate my tank one will need well over 1000 hours of game time to level it and by any standard ridiculous.

I was hoping to see this addressed in this big update

Errrr …. don’t tell me they’re patching live this patch that hopelessly broke tons of stuff on Test? We can’t use the broker for anything and the “refining fix” is brought live? We made feedbacks and not a thing was changed and it goes live?

They made an unannounced change to Tooltips which breaks all custom UIs.

Also, they added a 90-95 channel but level 95 characters “do not meet the requirements” to join that channel.

Thanks. They’re getting there. We’re kinda alpha testing them here on EQ2Wire. Not really ready for prime time yet, but I’m getting closer.

Yay for no zone-pulling mercs when you take off! That was very annoying to wipe on a solo-encounter because it was dragging way too many for a single person to tackle.
