Update Notes: Monday, November 26, 2012

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Free-to-Play (EQ2X), Game Updates & Maintenance

From the EQ2 Forums:

GENERAL

  • Fixed a bug where items that dropped from epic monsters that were pre-adorned were not tradable when they should be.
  • Spellscrolls will now be more accurate when saying whether or not they’re locked [ed. note: Silver vs. Gold account] based on spell tier and account subscription level.
  • Auto-following while on a flying mount will now cancel your flight if the follow target enters combat.
  • Call of the Veteran is now treasured instead of fabled so that all account levels can properly use it.

ABILITIES

  • Spells that rely on increments on a target will now successfully check against your implied target if your target is in the same group/raid as you.

QUESTS

  • The visage of fear in Vanishing Act should no longer become stuck in an unkillable state.

Hmm no news about no plat off of raid mobs or the broken or borked new prestige abilities…wonder who forgot the raid names plat coding again…same thing happened in skyshrine when it went live…I mean come on how dumb are they.

Their stock has been on a steady downward spiral. Their debt was just downgraded almost to ‘junk’. Anyone still there probably doesn’t have another place to go.

Grind that Primal Manifestation fight in Throne of Fear while you can, folks, because the inevitable nerf to the adds’ XP and loot goes on Test today, which means it goes live this week…

Great, so now CoV is broken 50% of the time for bronze and silver accounts too.

Thank god Sony get right on top of these bugs as soon as they’re reported.

CoV now works for nobody. There’s not even an error message except that once in a while you’ll see something to the effect of ‘unable to transport to that area’. Brilliant.

Oh nm, Malade is talking about The Sony Corporation’s stock as in the whole Multinational Conglomerate of Sony.

Some facts for you people out there: SoE is a division of Sony Computer Entertainment America, which is a division of Sony Computer Entertainment, which is a subsidiary of the Sony Corporation. They have 100’s of subsidiary’s under their belt with multiple divisions. Unless it’s been stated what subsidiary’s have been affected, don’t spout out BS.

Anybody seeing this issue. I’m posting here because I can’t access the forums at work.

Is there a problem with the Werewolf mercenary (in this instance a Pally) not following. My 90 Dirge has one and he just stands there after a kill looking pleased with himself and counting his fingers. I will head off to the next mob and engage, then look round to see that the merc is still 500 metres away.

Never used to get this problem with normal mercs.

What they broke with their new “fix”…
CoV no longer works period, tried it in several zones and you don’t even get the box asking if you want to be transported anymore.
Mass Production no longer works. When trying to create more than 1 quantity you get a message saying “The materials you selected are invalid. Trade skill process halted”.
The stone you need to click on for the final part of Puzzle Pieces does not show up in the zone half the time.

I was seeing the non-following werewolf issue last night myself.

Mass Production sometimes requires juggling of materials to work right. I’ve noticed that since it went live.

Haven’t seen CoV in permafail. I assume there’s a thread about it by now?

Can you purchase just the DOV expansion? It seems they removed the ability to purchase DOV (lvl 92 and 300 aa). You can only buy AOD and COE. So F2P can only go to 90 (no DOV)??

DoV is added in CoE afaik.

no reason to just buy DoV when you get two (dov + coe).

My fault with the non following werewolf. When hiring this time it had set the settings I normally minimise to none throughout rather than protect and follow. Can’t see the point of hiring someone to protect and follow if the system automatically assumes he won’t.

    From the Official Forums:

Sorry about that. A piece of testing script that breaks CoV on production made it out to live accidentally with the last patch. Fix is coming with the next hotfix.

There is a reason to buy DOV .. because it’s only $20

Your saying I need to spend $40 to get COE when I dont want to go to 95 .. I only want DOV and lvl 92 but we CAN NOT do that any longer.

I call BS on SOE !!!!!!!!!!!!! Let us still purchase DOV !!

$20 for 2 levels, or $40 for 5 levels. I think CoE is the better deal. 🙂

DoV was only $20 for a short time. If it were still available on its own right now, it would be $40. So just disable your xp when you hit 92, if you want.

F2P is supposed to be all expansions up to the last before the latest(in this case COE).

We can’t purchase DOV and we can’t get to 92 without it.

They changed F2P and the requiemrnts. It currently is only max 90 and there is no way to get to 92 without paying for the LASTEST expansion which is COE which negates the fact that F2P is supposed to get up to the last expansion (DOV).

There’s even a quest that gives you a title at 92 (with DOV) that can never be completed then unless we purchase COE. Again negating that F2P doesnt get the last expansion before the latest …

Bring back DOV for F2P !!!

Actually F2P shouldnt even need to purchase DOV because F2P is supposed to get the last before the latest.

They removed DOV access for F2P !!!!

    From the link above:

“2 All membership levels are granted full access to game world through the EverQuest II Sentinel’s Fate expansion. The Destiny of Velious® and Age of Discovery™ expansions must be purchased separately.”

Whether you pay a sub or are bronze level free access without CoE is level 90 through Sentinal’s Fate.

Aelious, that’s an OLD statement and hasn’t been updated. We are on a new expansion COE. That remarks doesn’t even say COE

F2P has always been up to the last before the latest. I have LAN parties and we play on F2P accounts, there’s no way I could afford 24 accounts, right. We raid last expansion and we PAY for unlockers using SC. This isnt a difficult idea to grasp.. Its the concept behind F2P .. we dont play free we PAY to play when needed.
