EQ2Talk Episode #55 — Second Wind

This weekend Dell and Ali talked to the producer of Everquest 2, Holly “Windstalker” Longdale. In this podcast, find out which way the wind is blowing, and learn about some of the things behind the making of Chains of Eternity, EQ2’s ninth expansion. Also, learn about what’s in store for Norrath in the coming months and the future.

Rumor has it that one of the questions relates to Census, and Holly indicated that the team is fully committed supporting the service and my name was mentioned. 😉

They spoke of the broker, and it was said it was going to be rebuilt and reworked from the ground up (for next year.) This could be really great, but the first thought to hit my mind when I heard this was, “be afraid…be very very afraid.” =PP

Of course they need to revamp it from the ground up. It’s too hard to retrofit the RMT broker features. Just imagine…sell you’re spare loot on the broker for real money (or station cash) with SOE taking only the usual broker cut.

I’m guessing, but wouldn’t be surprised at all to see it funded as high priority. After all, the tin cup rattling has become the sound track to almost every other form of entertainment. Why not SOE?

I like the idea of reverse brokering.

And also hope they revamp the “heirloom”/no-trade system so more stuff can go onto the broker. I mean people sell it all in the auction channel anyway, why not at this point.
