  1. You get dbl exp and sc. Every service offers people free things to get people to come back to them, it is nothing new. But normally when you tell them they can come back you actually have it setup so they can.

  2. Here is the kicker lol … IF you used the 45 free days, you do NOT get these free 3 days … nearly everyone who would use this free 3 dyas, used the free 45 days too, so this promo, like most every other promo SOE does, is useless and will change nothing in terms of subscriptions. Who runs the PR Dept at SOE… Seriously….

  3. @Aethn Actually, that’s incorrect. I was just able to log in with an account active for the 45 free days. It’s just that if you used those 45 free days later, and the sub finally ran out sometime in august, you won’t get to do this free weekend.

The fact that the account wasn’t active at all for all of friday and most of saturday, however, was something that was hitting most accounts, not just people who used the 45 free days.

  4. My second account was not activated until Sunday morning, but that’s not the kicker.
I went in to resubscribe this account, but SOE came up with an error saying my card company would not allow this transaction. Really? The same card that pays for the other account?

So I called my bank and had them double check, just to be sure. Nope, card is fine, nothing wrong on their end. So I went back to resub and still nope.

I guess SOE is making so much money, they don’t need mine.

  5. @Green Armadillo – I feel the same way. I actually (bashfully) admit being subscribed that whole time but haven’t actually logged in. I keep reading the disaster report here on the wire and it pushes my “eventual return” farther away.

  6. This ‘winback’ campaign is no different from any other company advertising and offering perks to new/returning customers that existing ones do not get.

TV companies, for example, offer promotional pricing for new customers that existing ones don’t get. What the existing customers always fail to recognize is the perks they got when they signed up, and, for EQ2 players, you are getting time counted towards vet rewards that a new customer won’t see for a long time.

Finally, all this over a mount that you can complete a quest for quickly, and some potions and some SC? Really? When did the EQ2 playerbase become so unsufferable?

  7. Well 2 of my accounts used the 45 days and ran out long before august, and i cant log them in, nor can my roomate or half my guildmates. So I am at teh very least half right, there are also posts about this very same thing on EQ2 forums

  8. Me and my wife used the 45 free days (some of it at least) we got the three extra days, logged in, got our Vulrich, logged out. Maybe we where lucky. I think a more interesting topic actually is: Why should anybody want to come back to a game that seems to totally have lost its way?

We where and are hoping for Mercenaries and the LFG tool to maybe bring some reasons to resub to a game that we once loved, but it seems less and less likely. Intentionally or unintentionally they have totally lost all the casual people we knew that played EQ2.
