Side Benefit of Multi-Housing — Multiple AA Mirrors?

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Art, Appearance, Housing, Raiding

Cloudrat of Test has discovered that players can place an AA mirror in each of their houses and thus save more than one AA setup.

Today I put a second AA mirror in a second home of mine and saved another AA setup. I am thinking now with mulit housing I can fine tune my saved AA setups with  one for soloing , grouping , raiding, harvesting and one for crafting.  I will just need to have a house for each setup to hold the mirror and have to pay for several resets to get them all into place.SMILEY

With so many changes and strategies combos based on what you are doing as the game grows this is an exciting new aspectSMILEY Now maybe there will be more raiders looking into the housing market and portals to themSMILEY

This is a happy bonus to owning more houses.

So far, EQ2 developers have taken extraordinary measures to prevent more than one Mirror of Reflected Achievements from being used per character, despite the obvious benefits (and parallels to multiclassing games like Rift). AA mirrors are LORE NO-TRADE, preventing players from crafting them for their alts or using more than one in a house, but with multi-housing, who knows what the EQ2 dev team will do. I would wait a few days to see if there is a reaction before tracking down a crafter to make you a spare mirror.

If this side benefit is allowed to stand, maybe raiders will complain a bit less about the development hours spent on getting Multi-housing working? 😉 Ok, not very likely…

I know that the dev team and producers have had a lot going on lately and fan faire coming up but it wouldn’t take too long for them to clear the air. It took less than 24 hrs for SJ to respond to questions about how much station cash the new class would cost. It is a yes or a no, pretty simple, not game breaking in any way. As for the personal harvest depot there should be no need for one in each house just make the damn thing capable of holding enough unique items to cover all harvestable materials and body loot for that matter FFS.

i have one depot full of chrismas event and one for transmuting stuff… unless it’s unlimited slot there is need of LOT more than 100 slots. But Guild bank depot is SMALL too, both need to be upgraded, but then the guild bank who can have less stuff than one single account spare bank almost as huge than the door on one simple house…

Still atm have more than one depot is usefull more than the mirror where most of AA look same, it’s pretty easy to have one single AA setup for rule everything (with few sacrifice) Ok i dont count BG, harvest or craft in this, but anyway mirror dont stock charactere page (related to craft)… who is fully linked to AA (and use AA conseilor to reset)

Hope this stays, there’s enough cheap housing out there to allow anyone to have 3-4 houses without worrying about upkeep (2-3 starting area inn-rooms, would cover a lot), and the ability to have a solo, heroic and raid/pvp setup would be quite useful for many characters.

This issue has been known ever since multi-housing went live. Like 10 people in my guild discovered this. It’s nothing new. Old news and old.

I’m pretty sure this “exploit” will be shut down sooner or later. They don’t want the acheivement counselors to become nearly obsolete, notwithstanding you still have to use the counselor for racial traditions and whatnot. I personally feel they have bigger fish to fry, though.

Frankly I’m not surprised, I submitted a big report a few days back about some other related bugs to multi-housing including the ability to put more than one (lore) harvest depot in a single house via the Move Items function.
Its not that I’m complaining, I would love for this to be left alone, but unfortunately the multiple AA mirrors and the exploits involving the Move Items function will get nerfed into oblivion soon enough.

    @ Lemp

Hey you stupid cunt… If you read the very first sentence of this post…

“Cloudrat of Test has discovered that players…”

If you click on “discovered” it takes you to the post where he made this “discovery,” which he posted on 06/15/2011 at 10:57:06. Which was yesterday.

My original post was pointing out that this shouldn’t be considered a discovery at all. Since a lot of other people found it WAY before him. The writer of this article needs to word it better.

Flaming is not ok dude, go hang out with the other trolls on eq2flames would ya. Cloudrat was the first to report about it, So you guild mates must be a bunch of exploiters in need of a good ban hammering eh…

@ zerigo: have to agree with you. No need to flame. Just because “like 10 people” know about something (and they don’t even deign to let other people know) doesn’t make this widely or even generally known. For Cloudrat, this very well could be a discovery, and for many other players.

If you have found out about putting a mirror in each house out by now, you’re an idiot and don’t know how to play a game to the fullest.

No one SOE is a bad developer and doesn’t know how to fix their own shit on the test servers. They have dumbass people playing them that don’t know how to effectively look for problems.

lol by them standards i should have a level 90 crafter, and 450 adorner. Nobody plays eq2 to the fullest… Raiding takes up my time, not houses.

It honestly never occured to anyone else to try that? Really? Never?

Because I know atleast 40 people who before multi housing even went live said to themselves “Hhhmm, I wonder if I can put an AA mirror in all those houses”

So if none of you thought about that, you’re really behind the curve. Maybe one day you’ll catch up to the rest of us.

It’s clear they dont know there game :p … less than 900 day played for me and i m sure lot of people have more than me. Most of mistake they do are so huge, it’s hard to beleve they know what everquest is (if not totaly impossible). Sometime they have less memory than a red fish. Doing same mistake again and again.

Gotta love the condescending egos posting on this topic who outside of EQ2 probably can’t walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded.

Considering how big a deal they made about AA mirrors last time and making sure players couldn’t use more than 1, I think most of us didn’t bother because why spend the time and effort to get our two AA setups all perfect when once SOE realizes we’re doing it, they’ll be on that exploit like white on rice. I don’t think multiple AA setups is wrong, but SOE seems to.

And my excuse for why I didn’t try multiple AA setups for myself is: I haven’t been playing my Dirge who is my only main character who would really benefit from it. Rangers really only have 1 good setup, and Monks don’t even have a really good setup, just an fair-to-middling one. At least that’s my experience.
