Introduced in Game Update 60, the 3 new Drunder instances turned armor crafting on its head, putting both adventurers and crafters through a convoluted process which wasroundly criticized on the EQ2 Forums. It took consultation with several players and poring over recipe books just to get all the details straight on this.

On October 11th, 2011, Drunder armor pieces were added to various bosses within the Drunder instances. As a result, only those players with particularly unlucky dice will likely even mess with having their Drunder armor crafted. If you don’t want to wait for the drops, you’ll be happy to learn that the amount of ore returned from smelting unwanted LEGENDARY and FABLED items has been sextupled since Drunder launched in May, so only a few items need to be broken down to produce a full set of armor.
Drunder Armor Drops by Named Mob
- Grolla will now drop class shoulders
- Warmaster Korok Hai will now drop class legs
- Dvuul Ripclaw will now drop class boots
- Hamslammer has a chance to drop class forearms or gloves
- Rageborne MacKulla has a chance to drop class forearms or gloves
Crafting Drunder armor was built upon the premise that most of the Legendary and Fabled drops in the 3 Drunder instances are ‘expendible’ and players would choose to sacrifice them in order to make the components to craft Drunder armor. You see, it’s one thing for players of MMOs to believe that dungeon-dropped gear is worthless — it’s quite another for this suspicion to be confirmed by design!
In order to have a piece of Drunder armor crafted, adventurers will need to acquire several pieces of unwanted Legendary and/or Fabled gear from within the Drunder instance which is appropriate for their desired armor slot. They’ll then need to solicit the aid of a knowledgable crafter to break down their Legendary and Fabled items into Rage Filled Ore, Brick of Bloodmetal, or Warborne Ore depending on which of the Drunder instances they dropped from.
In other words, in order to get the Drunder Forearms, you’ll need to commission a crafter to help you break down at least 2 Legendary or 1 Fabled items which only drop in Drunder: Spire of Rage to produce sufficient Rage Filled Ore. Of particular note, Drunder Legs are the most expensive item as you’ll need to break down 3 Legendary or 2 Fabled items from Drunder: Tower of Tactics to produce sufficient Warborne Ore. Note that the amount of ore/bricks needed is in increments of 5 (25, 30, 35), while the number of bricks/ore generated are in increments of 18 (18, 36, 54). This makes for some fuzzy math.
All told, you’ll need 90 Rage Filled Ore, 75 Brick of Bloodmetal, and 45 Warborne Ore to make one full set of Drunder armor.
