EverQuest II Service, Forums Restored

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Uncategorized

Defying our predictions, Sony Online Entertainment began restoring gaming operations approximately 9 hours ago, with EverQuest 2 servers coming online about an hour after that announcement.

Before you can log back into EQ2, the forums, or any other SOE games, you must first reset your password. It may be necessary to clear your browser cache or attempt a couple of times (As I did on the forums) to login.

WARNING: DO NOT MESS UP ENTERING YOUR ORIGINAL STATION USERNAME AND PASSWORD OR YOU MAY BE LOCKED OUT FOR 24 HOURS!!!

EQ2 Patch Errors

Some players have reported getting the following error message when trying to patch EQ2 with the Station Launcher:

There was a problem decompressing the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest II\lp_temp\LegendsOfNorrath\LegendsOfNorrath.dll_delta_10509_126.gz.

Rothgar has suggested deleting every instance of the LegendsofNorrath.dll file on your computer.

If you have any questions or issues about getting back into EQ2, your best bet is to post in the Welcome Back EQ2 thread on the EQ2 Forums (once you login using your new password).

I had the same issue with the patching. I deleted all instances of the file, and it still didn’t work..Eventually, I just deleted all things EQ2 and started from scratch and patched from SF up to date. Hope it doesn’t end up like that for anyone else.

At least servers are up though 🙂

not sure if anyone else is experiencing this – i am receiving an error when i attempt to reset my password as follows –

We have encountered a system error while processing your request.

    Please try again later.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you continue to encounter this error, please contact Customer Service at http://support.station.sony.com

Login server (or at least the server behind the password changes) must be down (too many people accessing said page)

It’s down. Can’t even send petition. SoE guys congratulated each other and went home. We’re screwed. Doom & Gloom!

I am getting the very same thing. According to EQFlames lots of others are too. My guild members are mostly getting the same issue but some people have managed to get in. The ones that did get in seemeed to be those who found out quickly so suggesting this is now an overloaded system and will improve throughout the day.

Still though SoE. Amateur yet again. As for 1 week bonus XP when will they realise that announcing this with no notice will never help many as we don’t then have time to arrange our personal calendars to arrange more game time.

Left feeling sour over this make good plan personally…. and I am usually the voice of reason and satisfaction.

Yeah I can’t reset my password either. Tried several times, all I get is the error page. I can’t contact support because I can’t log in. Sigh. I wanted to get the new expansion + subscribe and start playing again 😀

Cannot get in either, guessing the number of people has overwhelmed the system.

    I finally managed!
Try deleting cache AND refreshing the recovery site before each try.

It appears that no matter which why you try to get into the system, you’ll get the error.
This is very disappointing. Very unorganized and thought out.

It almost makes you think about whether to continue with SONY.

I have tried to reset my password about lots of times, get the error message each time. Also tried deleting cache & refreshing the page, no luck.

They should make a TV show like The Office about SOE and Sony. What a joke.

I was able to reset my password but now when i try to log in to EQ2 I get a message saying “This account is for an underage user. You are not old enough to access this game.” Seriously? Age is not a issue for me and verifiable since the name on CC matches the account name.

Neihn: A guildie of mine had a similar issue last December–he was trying to renew subscription to EQ2 but it kept asking for a parental control lock password. He ended up contacting customer support and they cleared out the kiddie password protection for him.

Users who upgraded to IE9 in Windows7 32bit, you need to uninstall IE9 to work up your reset with IE8, thats what I did in order to loggin to the game.

Also as of now around 3AM PDT, the login servers are acting weird again. It says I am underage and I am not suppose to be playing this game at the Patcher screen loggin page.

Is the Login Server down again? Are Hackers doing their DNS attacks?

Please get us some updates thanks !

    This is insane.
I’ve tried for over 2 hours to reset my password and getting an error message each time.
Now I get Station Name and passwords are incorrect.

So I use my new password and also get the underage user error.

It time for SONY to get their head out of their a–.

i was now informed that my password was reset.

when i attempt to login with my old password, it informs me that the login info is incorrect. which is a good sign.

however, when i attempt to login with the new info i am informed that the login attempt has failed due to an “unknown error”.
not sure what to do with that bit of information.

Might want to check your bank accounts also, I was charged $14.99 (guess for my regular subscription) and an unknown $20.00 from SOE today. I really have no clue what this $20.00 blind charge is from SOE, I only play EQII from them and no other games.

After a few timeouts I was able to login. Zoned a couple of times. Camped to toon select and crashed out. Been trying to get back in for over a hour now and it’s doing nothing except timing out.
