Dethdlr’s Adornment Calculator
I recently spent several hours researching what adornments I wanted to put on my new gear. This required going to multiple pages on multiple sites and manually calculating all the information I needed to know about adornments. This led me to think, there has to be a better way.
What resulted from that thought was Dethdlr’s Adornment Calculator. Details after the break.
For each slot there is a drop down list for the white and yellow adornments that lets you easily pick which adornment you’d like. Once you select the ones you want, scroll down and click Calculate.
Depending on what you selected, you are presented with the name of each adornment, where to get it, what faction level you need, a link to the item on Zam, and the in game item link that can be copy/pasted into the game. It will also show you which stats are effected, how many of each type of shard you need, and what raw transmuted materials you need to make the adornments you selected.
It includes links to the DoV yellow adornments as well as the SF adornments for those who prefer to browse the full details prior to choosing. There is a lot of information out on adornments. This attempts to bring all that together in one place that is easy to use. If nothing else, it’s at least going to help me pick my own adornments. 🙂 Right now, it doesn’t include the red adornments but I may add that if there is enough interest.
I see there is a change coming in GU60 for the adornment system but don’t yet know what those changes will be. I’ll update this system once it goes live if there are changes that need to be made.
Let me know if you find it useful.
Update: Non-class specific, non-raid dropped red adorns have been added.
Update: Class specific raid dropped red adorns have been added. Details here.
Update: Added a section with the text names of the white adornments to make it easier to send to crafters.
Update: Changed the name from “Dethdlr’s Adornment Selector” to “Dethdlr’s Adornment Calculator” since that seems to be what everyone is calling it anyway.
Update: Fixed a bunch of bugs and added a second white adornment dropdown for each slot to handle the newer items that have multiple white slots. If you are using a two hander with three white slots, just use one of the secondary dropdowns for the third slot and be sure not to choose casting speed since that doesn’t work on a primary slot item.

Awesome and useful. This saves me from having to decipher my meandering scribbles on little pieces of paper when I’m making adornments for alts.
Much appreciation!

This is a wonderful tool! Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into this! I do hope that if you have the time in the future you will add the Red adorns and War Runes, but even without, this tool is fantastic!

at first glance, I think you forgot Ability Mod option for chest/shoulders?
http://adornments.h0b0.net/ was very useful too, although its not updated for DoV.

Added ability mod to chest and shoulders. What’s the name of the neck adorn I’m missing? I’m not finding it.
Also, for the red adorns, are you guys mainly looking for the generic ones, or do you really want the class specific ones as well? I don’t raid anymore so I’m not sure how useful having the class specific ones would be.

Very nice list.
I made one similar for myself jsut for the hell of it.
It has white, yellow and red adorns + war runes in it.
It’s not quite as sophisticated as Dethdlr’s though, but if you guys can use it I can try and get Dethdlr’s to upload it here as well.

It was built in such a way that should make the red ones fairly easy to add. I just have to take the time to type it all in. I may wait though to see what they plan on adding for GU60 to make sure it doesn’t make this a waste of time.

Excellent job Deth! I think this is brilliant and can see me using it quite a bit in times ahead. Would definitely love to see the red adorns added too, and maybe over time the other tiers prior to end-game added.

A big thanks here, that’s a pretty awesome tool you’ve built there, and its even easy to use.
So far I’ve learnt about a lot of adornments that I did not realise existed, the only one that I so far have noticed is missing is the damage reduction (something like 140 less for yellow, and there is a red version) that I have in my charm slot that dropped from a PQ.

Very cool! Will take a lot of the guesswork out of adornments for me. I’ve never bothered with them because they’re so darn confusing to me! Thanks for putting this together. Well done!

The only other option I can think of at the moment is something similar to beatney that gives you a link you can set in your favorites to bring back the page with all your selections. That way I could keep track of what all of my toons have and need.

This is really awesome!
If you wanted to add additional functionality, add some way to filter by archetype (fighter, priest, etc).
But this is a really great, thanks for doing this!

The MA yellow adorn is 20% instead of 30%. 30% is the red adorn.

Awesome just a few tweaks needed all primary, secondary, and ranged yellow adornments can also go on charms, i.e. wild swings +30% AE autoattack yellow adorn from the PQs is on my guards charm 1 slot. Mending and Blasting adorns can also go on ranged as well, i.e guard has blasting, mending, mending on primary, secondary, ranged. The DOV yellow adorn Stout has only +1000 to max health. Great tool with a little more work can be perfect.

The Yellow Stout I adornment says 1000hp for me not 1555hp as the form (and ZAM) claims.
Otherwise very nice and usefull.
I think however that some adornments are prist only or fighter only and such.
Would be nice to see that there too. Unless thay changed it.

I’ll probably be using Raenarys file as the source for the red adorns when I add them. I might also add the ability to filter out the ones that don’t normally apply to your archetype but I haven’t decided exactly how I’m going to do that yet. I’ve got a few ideas I’m kicking around.
Also, I believe I’m going to implement a way of saving a set of adornment selections kind of like the beetny AA calculator does. I have the design for that worked out, just need to code it.
Glad you guys like it. Now I just need to see what changes are coming with GU60 and find out if this was all just a waste of time. 🙂

You can now save a set like the beetny AA calculator. Once you click Calculate, there will be a text box with a header that says “Link to these selections:”. The textbox contains the address of the page with these selections already filled in. The header is also a link in case you just want to click it and then bookmark it.

Ethereal Adornment of Energy (Superior)
Ethereal Adornment of Blasting (Greater)
Ethereal Adornment of Blasting (Superior)
Ethereal Adornment of Mending (Greater)
Ethereal Adornment of Mending (Superior)
Rune: Stout I
Keep em coming. The more eyes we have looking at this, and the more fixes you guys send me, the more accurate I can make it. 🙂 Thanks for all the info sent in.

Also there are some sweet adorns (such as \aITEM -2022740579 1028133205:Smoldering Adornment of Avoidance (Superior)\/a) in lower tiers that do not get upgraded in the top tier that might be worth mentioning…

@Superfranki: Hmm. You’re right that they would be nice to have added. I may try and shoehorn them in when I have a chance and can get together a good list of the ones that don’t upgrade in T9.

It seems some are missing.

Rune: Crit bonus isn’t showing up for feet slot. (and i think other slots, i was just looking specifically for that and noticed another player had this here)
