  1. After watching this panel, is it me, or does it feel like they were totally unprepared for the questions asked, even though some are fairly common questions/suggestions/feedback if you visit the forums.

  2. Xelgad is an idiot. Crusader heals don’t enable them to solo instances. Items do. This won’t solve that, which if they ever actually read the forums they should know.

Another thing, is it just me, or does this video really make it seem like the devs have absolutely no idea how their game actually works and the players do.

Thanks a bunch for the upload Feldon!

  3. They should have planned out this panel a little better so they would be prepared for some of these questions. There is no way to know every single question people are going to have but it seems like they went in there with no prepared answers at all. They looked stumped on almost every question.

  4. A lot of the questions asked were ones that can be found on multiple forum posts, for years. As one person said about the swarm pets “you said you’d fix it last year”. 30 mins to an hour of research or less would have given them a heads up at what was going to be asked. Sure there is always the strange zinger but things that haven’t worked right for a long time they should have had answers for (IMO: Swarm pets, steadfast, lifeburn vs eb, Fighter heals, Crits being at 100%, Guard dps vs hate…all of these are topics that come up alot in their own forums.)

  5. If its items that let crusaders solo instances then why aren’t warriors doing it just as easily? Seriously if you can’t put those same items on some other class and they can just as easily solo instances, your argument of items loses all of it’s legs. If its a combination of certain items and crusaders that allows them to do it, then guess what, its still a crusader problem, not the items.

  6. Feldon I just want to say thanks for taking the time to get this information posted for the community.

Being able to watch and listen to the panel live was great and I think it clears up a lot of the questions/answers that got lost in translation.

There really isn’t another place to go to find this info, so this site is pretty fantastic.

  7. delay, defer and distract. The 3 foundations of any political career, seem to be pretty sueful for mmo devs as well. :p

Most the answers were “we’ll check, or will look into it later, for things like pet coding, and dps values of certain attacks thats understandable, part of it was down to the questions all being similar (should know by now that specifics are only found out from test after there has been some actual players messing about with the changes).

Shame nothing was asked as to if:-
#are they still considering a tank aggro re-vamp, the last one scared the hell outta people with their ideas to remove transfers and make AoE and direct-tanks, but the idea of taking a closer look at how the tanks work was sound (its well known that 1/2 the tanks have problems even after the SF taunt-crit-bonus boosting).
#if there are any plans to provide useful symbols for crusaders, round-shields for scouts or a greater variety of throwing weapons for those classes that have to use them for specific abilities (swashy/brawler needs throwing weapons for their ranged attacks, swashies/bards need round-shields for certain aa trees, that said bows have had superior DPS since EoF only a single nice throwing weapon available underfoot depths, 7sec delay)
#maybe allow any ammo pack to hold any ammo type so swapping between 2 ranged weapon types is not so difficult.
#if SF raid armour is on a 1:10 drop chance (10 sets iirc, 4 tank, 3 heal, 1 scout, 2 mage) or if they were weighted more towards actual raid setup expectations (4:24 tank(one brawler) 6:10 healer(mostly made of plate) 7:24(3-4 chanters) mage 7:24 scout(3-4 bard))

Even a few weighting changes of the drop rates would solve the current problem with highly contested scout drops.

Either way thanks for the upload, was soem interesting nuggets in amongst the panicky cries of #omg noes# ;p

  8. Thanks, Feldon. It was fun hearing your occasional Ranger input as well. I laughed at ‘Welcome to the Ranger’s world’ when the Wizard was whining about having to be at 5m for Fusion.
