Wow this is awesome that everyone is so passionate about the mount. To answer a few questions that I have seen here.
1. I actually concepted this mount a year ago and have been waiting to make it, just have not had the time due to making all the cool stuff we make for the game allready that is not station cash. So we are not following anybody on this one.
2. Price is a tough one to decide, I think the price is good because it gives some exclusivity to the mount. At 5 bucks everyone would have it and it would no longer be special.
3. Stats are less then when you get in game, so its not a game breaker. If it had no run speed it would be a very poor mount.
4. It looks as though this is a heirloom item, it just missed the mark and will be updated on Tuesday.
5. As far as replying on the SC mount going live, heck ya I am. I made this thing super cool and couldnt wait to see what people thought. I made three colors to cover as many player taste as I could. I didnt want just one color to cater to a particular side of our player base. My intent was to make as many players happy as I could.
6. We still do just as much work for in game items that are not part of station cash or LON. This is just another way for players to get cool items that dont raid or have the plat to get stuff in game. The best stat stuff should still be aquired through raids or the hardest content of the game, I dont hear of any changes to this from art or design. Bummer to me since its hard for me to raid, but at least I can get some pretty cool items other ways.
And thank you for the positive comments on the mount, I am glad we are getting mostly positive feed back. Keep playing and we will continue to make super cool stuff.
i must say im really content with the new mounts its about time a sick ass looking mount came out with good design i dont care about the stats its like feldon said you should earn your better stats in raids
If the argument for allowing this is there is better in game. Then why not offer all the legendary item from zones for SC you can always get better from raiding. Sucks for you if dont have extra cash raids will just take people that have bought all the gear why waste time on poor people.
If you want to make a cool looking mount and make people pay SC for it. then make it a pot you buy that changes the look of your current mount. Apperince mount item =)
Its not that they are selling a mount through SC that gives me concern, its that they are only selling it through sc. I cant go to the mount merchant and buy the same mount with Plat. I am happy to have something available to players who cant raid or afford to get the item ingame, as long as the item can also be obtained through more traditional methods by regular subscription players.
So the mounts are only available for one month?
And I agree with Soulmaneq2, For the people who have been loyal to eq2, but don’t have the real life money to afford the mount with SC, there should be another option to buy the mount in game.
Perhaps you could make the mount purchasable from stablehands, but only to individuals who have been playing for a certain amount of years?
