Downtime notice from the EQ2 Forums:

All EverQuest II Servers will be brought offline on Thursday, January 19th, 2016 at 7:00AM PT (3 PM UTC) for an update. Estimated downtime is approximately two hours.

The EU EverQuest II Server will be brought offline on Thursday, January 19th, 2016 at 9:00PM PT for an update (Approx. 5:00 AM UTC January 20th). Estimated downtime is two hours.

UPDATE: Due to the occasional typo in past downtime announcements, we assumed that the notification above was a mistake and that US servers would come down at 7am PST while EU servers would come down at 9pm PST. We were wrong. All servers came down in the morning and no further update is required.

From the EQ2 Forums:

ABILITIES / ALTERNATE ADVANCEMENT

  • Fixed an issue with Ethershadow Assassin that was granting it two points of base damage per point of power spent.
  • Smoothed out the curve for obtaining Fabled and Mythical critical hits when crit chance is over 1000.
  • Spiritual Leadership may no longer critically apply.
  • Increased the base ward amount of Spiritual Leadership.

TRADESKILLS

  • The recipe for Blocker’s Bauble will now return the correct product.

ITEMS

  • A number of The Shadow Odyssey items (mainly Heritage and dungeon quest rewards, and charms) have been updated with proper stats.
  • The 4-piece set bonus on Guardians’ Ether Champion armor now properly stacks with their Shield Bash class focus.

  • The 6-piece set bonus on TSO Coercer and Illusionist raid sets now properly stacks with their class focus.
  • The 3 belts dropped by Warlord Ykesha now properly show their Poison Coins effects again.
  • Removed the confusion percentage sign on Illuminated Bonds Telluric Rending modification.

QUESTS

  • Shady Swashbuckler XVIII – Now offers the Tanaan Portal Device, for those who have completed “The Rift”.
  • Awakening Bonds: Whispers of the Past – Those who crafted the Vessel of Wisdom in Crypt of Dalnir: Baron’s Workshop [Solo] need only return to Dalnir’s forges in “Crypt of Dalnir: Baron’s Workshop [Heroic]” and interact with the placed Vessel of Wisdom, nearby to receive credit.
  • The Captain’s Lament – Researcher Tahar will now grant the “Experimental spire device plan” and components to those who have deleted them before creating a spire device.
  • Tears of Veeshan: The Core Problem – The Arcanum Vision Elixir is now removed from the player’s inventory when the quest is deleted.

No fix for Fiery Blast, No fix for Double cast rune, after nerf to Ethershadow while Sorched earth does just as much damage.

Answering “Who cares?” with “Don’t disrespect my playstyle.”.This game wants us to move forward with as much speed as we can handle, but it is designed for slower players too. As a longtime intentionally locked level 78 player, I am absolutely THRILLED that TSO gear is being upgraded. I’ve been very pleased with the ROK gear, which was upgraded even as I was wearing it. Enjoy your game. The rest of us out there in Norrath do not live in dustbins. We’re having fun too.

I’m level 76 and I’m going to start with The Shadow Odissey content sooner or later.

To answer your question: TSO will be unlocked soon on progression server as far as I know. Developers see it as a nice opportunity to update loot on standard servers too. They did the same trick with the previous expansions and hopefully they will do similar with the next expansions too.

I honestly didn’t know that Spiritual Leadership critically applied. I’ll have to take a look at some ACT logs. Oh well, maybe i can respec those 8 points into something else now? I’ll have to do some tests i guess.

Unless i’m missing something, i don’t see where it has ever critically applied in my parses. Can another Shaman verify? Seems like the only thing they did is make our base SL ward bigger? huh?

What purpose did the nerf to Spiritual Leadership serve? Pre-patch I believe it was warding for around 8-9m on my mystic with ~16k pot and 4150cb. Now it wards for about 300k… useless. Was it creating lag? Or was this meant to be some sort of TLE balance fix for the 10 people that still play on that server?

Meanwhile, the wards given by Runic Armor, Ward of Sages, Aura of Leadership, and many others do not crit in instances, making them equally useless. Instead of fixing older AAs to make them viable like they should be, they’re now going backwards? Why?

Daybreak have lost all control of anything vaguely representing “balance”. It’s a joke when a troub/dirge//illi/coercer etc etc can beat certain T1 classes (Conj /cough). In fact Conj dps has been nerfed beyond believe and are now T2 Dps at best. Beastlord’s are crazily OP . If things continue like this I can see many people just walking away until it finally creaks to a grinding halt.
