KUNARK ASCENDING

Norrath remains in danger from Lanys T’Vyl, God of Malice, and her pursuit of power! Return to Kunark and adventure through unexplored lands full of strife as a powerful force of iksar plan to overthrow the lich emperor, Venril Sathir. Uncover dungeons long sealed or lost, amassing power and piecing together the history long buried, in an attempt to keep the last Chaos Stone out of Lanys’ evil clutches!

Kunark Ascending is the 13th EverQuest II expansion and brings new and exciting adventures to Norrath.

Journey to Obulus Frontier in North Kunark where you’ll explore the ruins of Kaesora, fight through the Crypt of Dalnir in Warslik Woods, traverse the City of Mist, and adventure through more areas both familiar and undiscovered!

KA EXPANSION FEATURES

  • All new dungeons for Solo, Heroic, and Raid parties alike.
  • 4 new Ascension classes available to all max level characters!
  • Upgrade your epic weapon with all new Epic 2.0 Quests.
  • Gear Up Your Mercenaries – With the new mercenary equipment feature you can now equip your favorite Mercenaries with gear to increase their power.
  • New Wardrobe Tab – Free up space with the new Wardrobe tab. Any relevant items placed into the Wardrobe will be converted into appearances and won’t take up any inventory slots!

ASCENSION CLASSES
Once a character has progressed through the Kunark Ascending signature line, they will gain access to Ascension Classes from Ascension Masters located throughout Obulus Frontier. MERCENARY TRAINING
Mercenaries may now equip two armor and two mercenary only accolade items by default and may be trained to equip more.

WARDROBE
The Wardrobe can be accessed on your Character UI by clicking on the Wardrobe tab.
This feature allows you to store appearances of equipment for use in your character’s Appearance slots and House Displays. Appearances in your Wardrobe can be used in your Appearance Item Sets.
For more information on the Wardrobe System, click the “?” at the top of the Wardrobe section in your Character UI.

TRADESKILLS
A new tradeskill questline awaits! Those who assisted Maldura by completing the signature quest “What Lies Beneath” will find their services once again requested. Check your in-game mail, or visit Brytthel in Maldura for more details.
This questline will lead you into the new region, introduce you to the residents there, and unlock new factions, recipes and other rewards for you to enjoy!

USER INTERFACE

  • You can now enable a text display for reuse of spells with Options > User Interface > Spell Icons > Display Numerical Reuse Counter.
  • There is now a threat list window “Enemies” for All Access members. Use the command /togglethreatlistwindow to open it.
  • Spellscroll Depots may now hide unusable scrolls.

ABILITIES / ALTERNATE ADVANCEMENT
GENERAL

  • The hard cap for crit bonus has been increased to 4,000.
  • All class specific prestige tab conversion abilities have been standardized to convert crit bonus to potency, and potency to crit bonus. Training double prestige conversions will now only grant half the conversion value.

BARD

  • Zander’s Choral Rebuff will now reduce combat mitigation.
  • Added a deaggro component to Dodge and Cover.
  • Increased the threat component of Messenger’s Letter.

BERSERKER

  • Receives increased conversion rates for prestige tab crit bonus to potency conversions.

BRIGAND

  • Enhance: Dispatch will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Dispatch Defense will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Noxious Toxin will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Murderous Rake will now reduce combat mitigation.

BRUISER

  • Receives increased conversion rates for prestige tab crit bonus to potency conversions.

CHANNELER

  • Poison Arrow will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Supercharge will now grant an increment based ward to healing arrow or healing barrage.

CLERIC

  • Divine Healing will convert group member’s potency into extra potency.

COERCER

  • Enhance: Asylum will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Enhance: Obliterated Psyche will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Edge of Insanity will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Tashiana will now reduce combat mitigation.

DIRGE

  • Enhance: Verlien’s Keen of Despair will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Eulogy of the Fallen now triggers a short duration resolve buff when a raid member dies. This buff does not stack.
  • Increased the base duration of Exuberant Encore to 12 seconds.

ENCHANTER

  • Nullifying Staff will now reduce combat mitigation.

FURY

  • Porcupine now adds max health to level 100 targets.
  • Added a damage reduction component to Pact of the Cheetah.
  • Removed class restrictions from Armor of Nature’s effects
  • Reduced the heal reduction on Master of Storms.

GUARDIAN

  • Receives additional max health for prestige tab crit bonus to potency conversions.

ILLUSIONIST

  • Debilitating Nightmares will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.

INQUISITOR

  • Fanatic’s Protection now grants an incremented health buff on the targets group when applied.
  • Increased auto-attack multiplier on Persecution.
  • Combative Healing now triggers off of any combat or spell hit.
  • Punishment now heals based on the targets max health.
  • Removed class restrictions from Sacred Armor’s effects.
  • Enhance: Condemn will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Maladroit will now reduce the target’s Fervor.
  • Enhance: Fanaticism reduces the power cost of Fanaticism by 20% per rank.
  • Deny now reduces the target’s ability to bleed through wards.
  • Fanatic’s Faith VIII will now grant more Stamina and Max Health to group members.
  • Torment will now reduce combat mitigation.
  • Writhing Strike will now reduce combat mitigation.

MONK

  • Receives additional max health for prestige tab crit bonus to potency conversions.

PALADIN

  • Receives additional max health for prestige tab crit bonus to potency conversions.
  • Enhance: Righteousness will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.

TEMPLAR

  • Increased the damage reduction of True Faith.
  • Mana Cure will now grant a group ward matching the damage type.
  • Enhance: Mark of Divinity will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Enhance: Rebuke will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Reverence: Reduces the damage that bleeds through wards on the target.

TROUBADOR

  • Focus: Upbeat Tempo will now add 2 extra ticks to damage over time abilities.
  • Enhance: Depressing Chant will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Enhance: Dancing Blade will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.

SHADOWKNIGHT

  • Receives increased conversion rates for prestige tab crit bonus to potency conversions.
  • Enhance: Blasphemy will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Enhance: Devouring Mists will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.

SWASHBUCKLER

  • Added an effect to Hangman’s Noose that reduces the targets combat mitigation.
  • Precision Striking now affects all abilities and has had the critical damage component increased.
  • Enhance: Kidney Stab will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Enhance: Flurry of Blades will now grant an effect that reduces combat mitigation.
  • Seafury Thrust will now reduce combat mitigation.

WARDEN

  • Constant Currents will now apply on application of Clearwater Current. Constant Currents may not be applied to the same target within 12 seconds of initial application.
  • Increased the auto-attack multiplier and decreased the heal reduction of glacial assault.
  • Increased the damage and removed the trigger limit of Icewater Armor. Icewater Armor may now only trigger once every .3 seconds.

WIZARD

  • Increased damage of Incineration.
  • Increased damage of Hellfire.
  • Hellfire now adds a set amount of ability modifier to the next spellcast.
  • Increased damage of Frozen Rain.
  • Increased damage of Frozen Detonation.

ITEMS

  • Most current damage effects on weapons are now modified by player stats, and may critically apply.
  • Umbrite Ethereal Coin and Ethereal items that may be purchased from Llyleia the Ethereal Merchant are now Heirloom.
  • Ire-Dread, the Undead Devourer may now only be wielded in the primary weapon slot.

LOYALTY MERCHANT
Added the Froglok Meditation Pool and a Skyblade Skiff deed of ownership to the Loyalty Realtor.

QUESTS

  • Of Fire and Ice: The Dragon’s Marrow – The ‘Enervated Dragon’s Marrow’ will now offer this quest upon examination, for those who have completed “Of Fire and Ice: Suitable Components”.
  • The Fist of War – Those defeated within the Juggernaut Gymnasium will now respawn properly within The City of Freeport.
  • Words of a Giant – Giants in Kunark now have a chance of dropping the Giant Idol.
  • A Taste of Past Glory – Quest journal has been edited to be more helpful.
  • Round Up – Gilriss the Handler now replaces the Kunarkian tusker leash, if you have lost it.
  • Round Up – Gilriss the Handler now advises the player to leash the Kunarkian tusker to the post, if they have a tusker on a leash.
  • Johnny Pomegranate Seed – Quest can now be completed within “Shard of Love: A Moment of Valor [Agnostic]“.
  • A Gnollish Plan Afoot – There’s no longer a chance of getting stuck when zoning into “The Forest Ruins: Burrows”.
  • Diviners and Conquer – The cleansed rivulet now has quest offer icon, even if you do not speak Druzaic, thus encouraging you to learn Druzaic in order to get this quest.
  • The Path of Fear – Interacting with Captain Delshirrs, and the Far Seas crew is much more forgiving for multiple groups and players who have progressed the quest, but have been interrupted.
  • The Triumph of Fear – Starting fires throughout the city is now a group update.
  • Smell the Magic – The Sathirian enchanter dialog is no longer zone wide.
  • Countertrap! – Deletion of this quest now removes the Recipe: Alchemical Trap from your recipe book.
