Wife and I transferred 4 toons shortly after it became available. She got the disco for the token on Halls of Fate server.

With respects to Mr. Perot, that loud sucking noise is all the remaining servers depopulating.

Only Daybreak could effectively make us pay for a server merge.

Interesting take on it, quite possibly so.

I don’t understand the appeal of a server where you can buy anything without even the minor roadblock of having to be in the zone when the item is looted. I’m quite certain it won’t affect my gameplay at all since no one I know is planning to transfer.

Wasn’t nearly everything in EQ2 tradeable up until Echoes of Faydwer?

I will stay on a dead server before I pay to transfer. Been down that road and stayed on a dead server right to the dying end before the recent mergers that was supposed to boost our chances to find groups and build economies. Instead we find nothing but boxers spamming auction to sell stuff for over inflated pricing because plat is virtually worthless all the plat cheating took place. Always been a fan and have defended our devs/the game many times but the endless push to sell certain appealing items for real cash is getting old.

Feldon, this might be the case but are you saying this was a good thing?
I’m sure there were plenty of reasons why it was changed and never looked back for… well, until now.

They locked things about DoF or a bit before, I think it was LU13. Yes LU13 shows up again.

During KOS you had to buy/get gear the same way SLR is now. There was very little trade able.

Yes it was LU13, remember the outcry, peeps think folks complain now, yikes! I doubt anything has ever come close to that fulmination, that I’m aware of.

Remember when you could put gear on that was way beyond your level by buffing and whatnot, i can’t remember the exact techniques but man that was a real example of how amazingly deep and complex EQ2 was back then, man i loved doing that then go kill mobs and you could literally feel how well your work was. Still complex today in other ways but compared to back then, not as much. OH, and remember you had to make all the components to make a chair, the nails, the glue, damn it was complex.

Can’t say i hate the way it is today though either, i rather enjoy being back. I like it! 🙂

I made a character on the IOR server and maxed it out as a crafter and adventurer. At first people seemed enthusiastic in general and I was willing to give it a try. I got many disco’s and that was great fun. However, it is so dead now. You can be logged in any time of day or night and you will see barely any one speak in general chat. There is barely any thing for sale on the broker. People are keeping every thing they make for themselves and their guild mates. They don’t need to sell any thing to make money because there is nothing to buy and they have plenty of plat from claiming their plat bags. The auction channel is always empty. It is depressing for any one not playing with a very close group of friends that they transferred over with and this includes guilds. I have been in two guilds and both were created by friends from other servers who stick together. They only wanted other people in the beginning to help them level their guild halls and potentially contribute to help them buy one of the new $400 guild halls. I left that server and would rather play on my home server of AB as dead as it is.
