What’s Next for Terrors of Thalumbra Itemization?

Daalilama started a thread on the EQ2 Forums asking what we can expect as far as filling gaps in itemization as a result of the player power growth of the recent Terrors of Thalumbra expansion. Points of specific concern are Cyan Adornments, Quintessences, White Adornments, Food & Drink, and Poisons all of which remain largely untouched since 2015’s Altar of Malice expansion.

EQ2 Lead Designer Kander has had some interesting responses suggesting that we’ll see a content release this spring that addresses many of these issues. From the EQ2 Forums:

We’re saving a lot of this stuff for the content update that is coming soon. [TM] Most of this will be addressed with the new content push.

In response to how tedious it is to acquire Exceptional Jewels (non-War Rune purple cloak adornments which offer a nice set bonus)…

Also in new content coming soon.

on the subject of Fabled zones…

We have a lot coming soon. More info soon.

When the team is authorized to say more, we’ll post it.

I am so tired of this hidden, we can’t say anything of this game. It is so old and so few people play it, it might as well be a pay for early access type game. Someone said to me the other day “is that game still going?”

The Developer don’t care at all what the customer base says, example the range damage issue sitting around FOREVER, so why would they care anymore if they say they are doing something and don’t deliver on it. That’s just par for the course anymore

I think the Dev’s have been much responsive and communicative since the last round of layoffs. They seem more focused and on the same page as to the direction of the game. However, there are fewer of them and this is what we are running into now…

    Gamers can be such malcontents!

I like this expac. The sig lines are the right length, heroic zones have good replayability, the art is fun, zone layouts are effective. I know some raiders are (understandably) unhappy with raid gear. And it’s not the amazing creativity of expacs of long long ago, But considering the small player base, which can only support a small dev staff, I think they gave us an enjoyable expac so far.

True lurk. I can finally enjoy the game even when I don’t have enough time to play a day. I don’t have to raid daily to get decent gear and now a bunch of cry babies are making me doubt if I wanna play this game anymore.

So it was ok for you to voice your opinion to get the game changed to enter a zone collect loot but it isn’t ok for people that don’t like it that way to voice their opinion

      Ok got it, hypocrite much?

I think dev’s handling of communications here works out on hell of a lot better than over in, say, Guild Wars 2. That scene is always in flames, no matter what dev does. Here, not so much.

Also, ereon is right. What we’ve been getting, particularly given dev’s and management’s crunched labor resources, has been pretty damned good. At that, it doesn’t appear anybody’s enthusiasm in San Diego has waned in the least. That helps.
