Still Having Launchpad Issues? Solutions Inside

Yesterday, the EverQuest II launchpad was updated. This caused numerous issues but most were resolved and most players are now able to connect. If you’re still having issues, here are some further solutions:

Q: You get a black screen when you open the Launchpad. Now what?

A: From Caith on the EQ2 Forums:

Open Start -> Settings -> Control Panel > Internet Options
Click on the Advanced tab on the far right.
Scroll down the Settings pane to Security.
Enable the “Do not save encrypted pages to disk” setting.
Make sure “Use TLS 1.0” is checked.

Again you should only apply these changes if you are getting a black screen. I do NOT personally have these settings checked and am able to play EQ2 just fine. I’d even suggest reverting these changes after you get EQ2 to successfully patch once.

Q: I get an error like this when I try to run the Launchpad:
“UnableToDownload – HTTP::Exception::UnhandledResponse: Not Found (404 – 64.37.169.11) – http://manifest.patch.daybreakgames.com/patch/sha/manifest/eq2/eq2-en/live/eq2-en%7Bfull%7D.sha.soe”

A: This advice comes to us from JChan. Open your LaunchPad.ini file inside your EverQuest II directory and remove any line that starts with “digestUrl“.

Q: My launcher has forgotten my logins and passwords. Help!

A: This is an unfortunate side effect of yesterday’s update. You’ll need to re-enter all your logins and passwords to any DGC accounts you have.

Q: My launcher has switched to Streaming mode and is re-downloading the game. Help!

A: Click on “Game Version” and you should be able to select your region such as “US English” and then tick a “Full Download” checkbox. If that checkbox does not appear and your game is now downloading “streaming assets”, then close the launcher and re-download the EverQuest II launchpad. Reinstall it in the same directory and you should be given the choice of Streaming or Full Download again.

    For security reason TLS 1.0 should be disabled. If you try this solution remember to disabled it once your launcher is working properly as suggested by Feldon.

    I had the streaming issue. Once I selected full download it stopped streaming, but now the option window is gone. I don’t know if that is intended behavior or not, but it seems worrisome.

    “Launchpad was unable to connect. Please check your network connection or try again later. If the problem persists, please visit https://help.daybreakgames.com for assistance (4-0)”…….then when I click the link for help “Windows cannot find file //Launchpa.libs/web/%22https:help.daybreakgames.com. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again”…..this JUST started happening to me what do I do?? I went into EQ2 directory and booted game from EXE file now it won’t do that because it needs to connect to patcher….this is getting stupid

    I am getting repeated Client Application errors and eq2 shuts down before I can fully log in.

    So I been kicked out of game 3 times day while zoning. Each time despite me having clicked remember my user name bla bla bla I had to enter it all 3 times and agree to the uela all 3 times. Not fun.

    Yeah still no progress on the launcher…can we at least get an update?? Like wth were paying for this??

    Just updated mine tonight. Accepted the new EULA and it gets to “Checking 2.877 files…” and sits. For over an hour. Closed and restarted… same thing over and over again.

    i switched off virus and firewall for 10 seconds and then started launcher which then started as normal, i then switched antivirus and firewall back on and it seems ok. Very odd

    Upon starting my patcher it keeps coming up with :
    LaunchPad was unable to connect. Please check the network connection or try again later. If the problem persists, please visit https://help.daybreakgames.com for assistance.

    Obviously once I try and run the game directly it says that my game isn’t sync with the server version, please run patcher…
    This is getting annoying missing raids because of Daybreak.

    when I try to reset my password beings it won’t aknowledge my password I have had for awhile. I have got locked out 2 times now for it doesn’t like what Iput in and I do use the charaters it shows. and by being locked out for 24 hrs on my main acct it also locks out 3 other accts so I cannot reset them till the 24 hrs is up. I am frustrated that I cannot get these 4 accts passwords reset.

    How could you get your launchpad to stop malfunctioning because my computer keep saying “the device you have plugged in is malfunctioning.” Even if my launchpad looks like it is working it is malfunctioning so someone please help me with this situation!
