Zone Crashes After March 10th Update

Written by Feldon on . Posted in EQ2, Game Updates & Maintenance

We saw the introduction of some new harvestables today for the new Primordial level-scaling white adornments, and for new Mastercrafted food and drink recipes. Some of these components are also available from the Marketplace, but they are also harvests from out in the world.

We’re working on a more detailed article, but first, players have been reporting zone crashes since today’s update. From Holly on Twitter:

We are looking into the terrain zone crashes since our update. Seems related to new harvestables. We’ll update you as we learn more. #eq2

Update: For the time being, overland harvest nodes are being removed from Altar of Malice zones until the problem can be resolved. This is being discussed on the EQ2 Forums.

Why am I not surprised by stuff like this anymore. I must be getting used to it.

I kind of feel like EQ2 is now like a long game of Jenga where the only thing keeping the tower upright is that one block at the bottom center and the sway of the tower increases with each pass.

They’ll probably blame DrumsUI for this along with the lag issues . . .

after harvesting 70-79 for the rare needed for white adorns all I can say is more time sink. Over 4 hours and haven’t gotten even 1 of the fragments needed, no food/drink rares, but did get a spellshard lol I cant understand why they want more and more items in the game, meaning more lag? This means I just started to fill yet my 3rd depo box full of raw mats. Bad move imo to put even more items in the game when lag is so terrible at the moment for everyone.

Yeah these new white adorns and food/drink serve no purpose in terms of itemization. For adorns, all they needed to to do was add more variety and availability for green adornments. It’s nice they gave Provisioners rare recipes but from the looks of it, the mats needed are ultra rare and the food/drink itself isn’t all that unique from what is already available. All this seems like a veiled attempt (or not so veiled attempt) at driving SC sales. I guess i just can’t understand any other reason why these items would be implemented.

We’re having issues zoning into guild hall and into group zones on Crushbone…. not sure it it’s related or not, but it is frustrating.

Fix the damn lag allright. Serious raiding is not possible anymore and it’s getting frustrating.
