EQ2 Summer Gold Rush Promotion – Gold Accounts Get 10% Bonus XP, Coin, Mount Speed

If you’re a Gold Member this summer (June 21 – September 21), you will have access to a special daily spell that provides bonus coin loot (increase of 15%), an experience bump (increase of 10%), and additional mount speed (increase of 5%)! This spell grants these benefits for four (4) hours each day, all summer long! This is in addition to all of the other perks you receive with Gold membership.
You will find this spell in your hot bar or in your spell book under abilities. Look for “Gold Rush.”

My prediction: Since a lot of other F2P games do those things for subs all the time but don’t have any restrictions on gear and spell upgrades…
eventual change to that model.
Right now almost all the other MMo games that go F2P have much less restrictions on play with gear and abilities but just provide these types of bonus’ to subs

It seems the devs can’t do anything right. Dare to give subs a bonus when playing time traditionally drops, and you still get negative feedback?
Goodness I’m glad I don’t do development for a living. It truly does appear that some people will complain about everything.

Looks like I need to clarify my comment :-). No criticism at all of the gold rush promotion. I was merely predicting that in the future if the gold rush was made permanent and restrictions were removed on gear and abilities for non subs, then EQ2 would be in line with the newer FTP games such as Tera, Aion, Rift etc. which have similar sub benefits.

Yes, the effect stacks with an XP pot. I tested it with a new character and popped one of the free 20% and then gold rush. Seeing 30% to my effects bonus now.

I could have sworn somewhere someone mentioned it only lasted 4 hours – which is true – but the time does not tick down when you are logged off. But the recast on it does.
Veteran reward xp potions and gold rush xp bonus do stack – just checked it out.

skippdippy the game has always been easy. This doesn’t make it any easier, just provides those of us with a paid sub a nice bonus, and comes during a time when there’s a lot of player absence.
I’m not alone in loving this.
