Sorry about the food Feldon. Business banquets have become meager and boring ) 2 pieces of some unknown flat fish, chicken saute in something, braised beef, I hope it’s beef and the dull pasta. Veggies are just too strange and over-cooked. Yep, it’s a business banquet. Room service is definitely better )

Thank you so much for the incredible transcripts and such. You, Dethdlr, Calthine and Cyliena are who make fan sites great!

And Den Mum? She is in a class all her own! I’ve followed Trader’s Corner since EQ1. She is why so many of us are tradeskill freaks.

And since I’m on a roll….Whilhelmina and Sig are always helpful. Even that flamey site is helpful. Cloudrat and the TEST people work extra hard for the rest of the community.

All the folks who post on the forums and here, thank you for representing the rest of us at SOELIVEFANFAIRE. It appears from Feldon’s postings that you all made a difference in the SOE attitude to players.

Thanks Betony. I’m mostly helpful for the French community though.

Thanks to Feldon & Dethdlr for this very good coverage as usual. Good luck on fixing the texts and writing it in a better way!

Feldon, you must have become accustomed to European food which is, of course, better ;p (me? chauvinistic? naaah)

And yes, as said above, thanks to all the fan site members who all do a wonderful job at keeping us all updated.

Feldon, thanks to you and all those who bring FF to us via the Wire. I will be honest I was thrilled by most of what I read but I am thankful that you gave us the chance to see what was going on.

Thanks for the great round up of SOE Live.
+1 faith restored in sony (Possibly)

I really enjoyed hearing about the new expansion, the fact we can stay with sony if we wish (+10), more micro in the micro transactions ect.

Thanks to Feldon, Dethdlr, Calthine and Cyliena for bringing us the info.

Hold on to your troosers sony, you may have just won back some players

Thanks for the coverage Feldon and Dethdlr. After a lackluster 2010 FF I stopped going (and didnt seem to miss much in 2011) but by the sound of it they might be getting back on track a bit. Shame to hear about the food: they had that problem big time in 2009 (was taco-type food… and wasnt even enough for everyone to have one plate worth). It’s such a simple and relatively cheap thing that can drastically change the atmosphere… too little food and people are testy and the event can feel cheap.

Did they announce which community (EQ or EQ2) won the facebook competition for a double XP weekend? I skimmed all your notes from the gathering, but didn’t see this anywhere…

Banquet food got worse each of the three years that we attended. I can only imagine what it was like this year if the trend continued.

Thanks for all the work and effort you put into reporting from the event. I know when we were going we didn’t cover half as much or do near as much work as you have and it was still tiring, so I can imagine how exhausted you are after all of it. I really do appreciate all the hard work, despite the differences in opinions that I might have on some issues. Hopefully things will start looking up and we might get a chance to run into you again at a future fan faire.

That is sad. like a backyard cookout. At least last year we had a couple nice italian dishes. Bet somewhere out back the SoE dev team was hard at work grilling all that stuff up, lol. I cant see the hotel catering filling such a bland order.

If they did, they would have been better. 😉

I’d count on a new venue next year.

Soelive was great, I’m surprised Feldon got as much information as he did with all of the bugging I did of him. The food was interesting, they ran out for about 15 minutes while they had the chefs cook.

The sound was horrible it was very hard to make brasse and everyone else out at times, and when Smed mentioned it onstage during the first night and it continued at the end I’ll be surprised if a head doesn’t roll.

I also learned I am pretty good at promotions and talking to everyone, as Feldon was the third person that asked me to talk about there website or store with everyone I run across. Bring business cards next time and I’ll take care of it, and send me the video so I can do the transcribing.

And there might be some ideas from me that show up this year in the game, although at the sunday brunch we came up with the best story line ever that would never happen. That involves a dungeon raid on the belly of veeshan shadows of colossus style with you killing her as she rips apart norrath and then you wake up at the starting islands as a level 1 character and morrel thule laughs at you saying it was just a dream, and now you have to start over and everything takes 3 times the xp to level.

It was really terrible. I tried some of the cold, dry food, said forget it and moved on to dessert and drinks. However Niami was happy because for once there was food there she could actually eat, so I’m glad she didn’t have to go hungry during another banquet.

I almost went up for the Gangnam style dance-off, but decided I still had a bit of dignity left in me after wearing that ridiculous hat. 🙂 It was hilarious watching everyone that tried it though.

Thanks for the great coverage Feldon.. I’m terrible about attending panels (especially being on time to them) so it’s nice to catch-up on little tidbits I missed here or there.

By the way, my Fan Faire pics are here, if anyone cares to look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cyliena/sets/72157631831342410/

Feldon thanks for the great write ups. I haven’t looked at anything EQ2 related since I left the game 6 months ago and sice then this is the only thing I peeked at, hoping for some more about EQ Next tbh. I would never go anywhere else for my EQ2 info.
