Sorry if this is off topic. For the last couple of days my launchpad has been acting like it is a streaming client, showing a 1.9gb download. Each time it starts, I make sure it is not streaming (via advanced settings) shut it down and restart. But the same thing happens. “Why on earth would it be trying to download 1.9Gb” I think.

So I start the game using everquest2.exe from the file folder, which was the last fix for when the launchpad totally screwed up. And it works, I can play without the 1.9gb download (whatever it is).

When I get into the game, I ask my fellow players what is happening. No response. Then tonight, someone sent me a tell saying the latest maintenance update is 1.9gb. A 1.9gb maintenance update?

Really? Is this true? A maintenance update of nearly 1 Gig? Maybe that is no big deal to many people, but 1.9 Gig is quite a lot for me to download. Why is there no announcement of this?

I think a huge download with no notice sucks, not all of us have fibre to-the-home after all. I am surprised no-one is talking about this.
