    Fighter change ?
My main is a mage and i must say it’s pretty obvious that thanks to multiattack, fighters are now T1 parser but can keep their high mitigation plate armor (or have high avoidance)
This does not make sense but i highly doubt this change will be a nerf

Fighters need that DPS to hold agro.

I could see a small reduction in DPS balanced with a dramatic increase in hate increase. Some fighter taunts only give +5k. That’s about the damage of a scout autoattack — two years ago.

I seem to recall that they had mentioned “rebalancing” the fighter classes, so this likely pertains to that. The most viable tanks in the game at the moment are brawlers due to avoidance and strikethrough immunity, and plate tanks sub-par on account of this. (Though brawlers are feeling the pinch now too, due to the spike damage they receive when avoiding on challenge mode encounters) I hope all of this is addressed.

What, this again? Am I the only one left who remembers what happened on the last attempt? Or the one before that, either? This never seems to work out well…

Fighters need some tweaks. I’m not sure why this is a mystery. But it has to be baby steps.

The problem is, the original proposal was so sweeping and horribly unpopular that that dev left the company months later. And so the EQ2 team have been gunshy about making any changes that affect all fighters.

LOL at thinking fighters are T1 DPS. Must not group with real T1 dps classes. 🙂 WIth that being said, why did I just get a shiver when I read this.

@Anaogi, I remember the last fighter balance attempt all to well. WHat you are an AOE tank, you are a single target tank… Time to see how they are going to mess with things now. Given the track reacord I am very very nervoud, but if it helps the tanks actually keep agro vs my real t1 dps, I would be happy.

FOr now I will put my status on cautiously optimistic…

Whatever the are going to propose as the new “changes” I hope they at least do the same thing they did with the prestige abilities on the forums…not make anything unchangeable once they do it and work with the community….granted the feedback threads for the prestige abilities when they were on test wasnt ideal and not everything the community proposed about changes to the prestige made it in either due to lack of time or not wanting to adjust the abilities for a 3rd or 4th time but it def was a start to two-way feedback that should have been that way on the forums from the start….however given that the fighter changes were promised what a year or two ago and only just getting around to them be interesting to see how long it takes for complete or hell even partial class revamp they have been promising for longer than that.

Hmm…Brian “Zuglash” Ferguson (Associate Game Designer)? I only know Brian “Omougi” Ferguson (“Tradeskill” Designer). I also know a GM-Zuglash? What’s happening there?

How much “lots of” can there be in 20 minutes? Not that much. Don’t worry, Arbos.

Yeah … don’t worry. They will spend 19 minutes talking about Dungeon Maker and 45 seconds talking about the nerf … I mean changes … then two weeks later, after 13 days of testing with no appreaciable changes on TEST … WHAM !!!!!

Paladins can’t taunt or heal anymore. Oh that already happened ? Never mind …

They have no clue what to do. I just don’t know how much more I can keep supporting this game. GW2 looks too good to keep going through all of this.

And 2 minutes finds a fix.

Yeah I tried that and it worked… THIS time. Last time it did not as the launcher had overwritten all the full DL files with streaming ones. I guess I managed to catch it in time, as soon as I saw the running dragon I quit out of the game. Thanks for the info Gunthore. Last time I had to do a backup from a few months ago. Apols for the off topic but to me this just sums up the issue and why folks are losing confidence in SOE: fancy new content/balancing and stuff is all fine and dandy but SURELY the old stuff needs to be fixed that makes the game unplayable for your current audience BEFORE any new balancing or content is brought in??? Or is that just me being fussy?

Glad (and sorry) that its not just me, Gunthore. Thanks again for your posts/help.
    Cheers

my bet is they’ll remove all hate adorns and the hate mod so everyone can taunt 100% certain 🙂

I have very good DPS, but it is only on par with Mages (or other DPS classes) when the players suck of have ridiculously bad gear, otherwiese the DPSers are at least x2 or x3, depending on situation (of course SK ranks #1 at the pre-last boss in UD with like 50 adds to AOE. 🙂

Doesn’t someone have a “Tivo for Twitch” somewhere on the net yet?! Another chance for EQ2Wire to fulfill a need? 🙂

I’ve stayed up til 2am to watch these webcasts and if it’s expansion/GU/mechanics, it’s closer to 150-200 people who attend.

It would be nice if they were longer and more interactive with audience questions. How often do only the softball questions get answered?

I actually recorded the first couple of Webcasts back when they were on that other service before they started using Twitch. The dropouts and video freezes were torturous. I ended up just using the audio. And then 8 hours later, the video was posted on Youtube so it’s not worth it.

The hardest part, which takes about 2-3 hours to do it properly, is the Transcribing. A mechanics type webcast will be closer to 3 hours, since I’ll be doing a lot of word-for-word vs. summarizing.

Just a piece of info about what’s coming next on EU servers: Received an email this morning informing me that the transition to Prosieben will take place in the next 30 to 60 days. Big info, isn’t it?

All you really have to do is make taunts useful. It’s not that hard to figure out.

I remember looking forward to this way back when and then they put it on hold indefinitely at the last minute. Which may not an accurate memory. But it sounds like something they would do if it’s not. 🙂

While its true that fighters can do a great deal more dps than in the past they shouldn’t be out parsing T1/T2 mages. My main is a Lock and I have yet to be out parsed by a tank.
