On Test: Skyshrine Pennant Connects Houses, Guild Halls to New Content

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Game Updates & Maintenance

For two weeks, dozens of Guild Rally Flags and AFK players have adorned the central hub of the City of Skyshrine on each EQ2 server. It looks like that is about to change. From the EQ2 Test Update Notes:

POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION

Skyshrine : The Forbidden City of Dracur

  • A Pennant of Skyshrine Loyalty can now be purchased from the Skyshrine City faction merchant once you have earned enough faction with the Claws of Veeshan. This pennant will allow you to return to Skyshrine from any house or guildhall.

Yet another reason to gain +50,000 Faction with the Claws of Veeshan!

UPDATE: The Pennant costs 100 platinum pieces and you must have at least +10,000 Faction with the Claws of Veeshan.

“Yet another reason to [put] Claws of Veeshan!” faction on the solo daily quests :-P

Is this a banner which can be placed in a guild hall for everyone to use? In any case it’s not really useful to people still going there to get the faction, which you can’t get from the solo missions.

I’m curious about the lack of instance shards from these zones that drop gear that have yellow adornment slots. So we still have to go do old instances just to get shards?

I think that’s the idea to keep use running DoV1 stuff.

It’s more likely that they just never finished coming up with a token system for DoV2. Just like it seems they never decided how to itemize challenege mode mobs, which are currently drop gear that is in the same stat range as the non-challenge ones. (Remind me why we should bother trying again?)

Excited for this to go live on all servers. We’ve have 2-3 people in charge of keeping flags down and I’ve been at 50k for a few days.

    i’m with Lidet on that.

Let those who group get to the 50K faction in days/weeks. But allow the solo players – who will only have one solo quest a day, a chance to get to 50K – even if its at a much slower rate.

Previously the solo players didnt need the faction – as the stuff it allowed wasnt intended for solo players. But now that faction = quick access, then its something that solo players may want.

The solo quest should definitely give faction. On the advanced quest we get two chest of unlimited stuff (which is in fact limited as we have only two items in item buti digress), cash, but no faction.
They consider our action is worth cash and great item but do no consider our work worthy of their gratitude… Doesn’t make much sense.

honestly i say they need faction for the solo zones but i think i see why they didnt do it, i mean they,ve been trying to get people to interact within communities so i get why there is no faction givin, its an incentive to get people to get out and group in zones like contested HM or pretty much anything, again its just my opinion soo take it as you want

    Sorry for off-topic question.

I returned to the game after 5 months. I have some lvl 90 DoV x2 raid gear and crafted armor. Necro here.

What is progression right now. What armor should I shoot for? I am 50% solo 50% group player and my guild currently is not raiding.

I have also 2k plat to burn if necessary.

    Thx in advance.

P.S. Maybe Feldon could make gear progression blog :) like for first DoV exp :)

    Thx in advance

    @ aarionn

Stop what you are doing and get to skyshrine. Pickup the quest “The Breach” and do shoutouts for a “Access Group”. Then complete that questline through the dracur prime instance. Once you get 92, run underdepths as many times as you can and keep putting the dozekar head (goes directly to currency) in your shared bank.

Because you will 50k faction with Claws of Veeshan ASAP. Then buy the faction gear in bulk. Each piece cost is 10pp and one dozekar head.

    @anditron3000

thx very much for your answer m8 :)

Just a few more question if I may:
    1. Why to put dozekar head in shared bank? Is it Lore?
    2. Why to buy faction gear in bulk?
3? How hard is underdepths? Does it require full grp or 3 ppl with mercs can do it?

    Thx very much in advance!

Aarionn, first don’t try to go to UD (Underdepths) till you have close to 300cc. This is the number one thing why some of us hate PUGS.

    responding to your questions.

    1. the head is lore.
    2. doesn’t really matter if you do it in bulk or not, I’d say run the zone and go buy the gear. ( you have to ahve 50k faction, takes a while to accumulate that much)
    3. Full group of 280 – 300+ cc ppl. Can be solo healed, but much easier with two healers.
If your dps classes are undergeared, you likely won’t make it far.

    @ Shadowed Thx very much.

I am reading previous blogs to gather more info.

I will start doing quests today. Try to get to 92 and I need 211 more AA as I am at 298. Have also to check what is the best AA setup for grp/Solo Necro also.

Also before PUG I will try to get to 92 and 320 AA. I hope I will get some grps in guild, but since P7 deal…. it is empty… Someone told me we went from 40 regular raiders to 10 ppl online since January…

But the best thing is that I am interested in game again.

Thx much for answer. Great community here.

@Melpheos , If you are talking about making sense, then no it doesn’t make sense that a Kromzek’s quest would give you Claws of Veeshan faction.

@Karith I doubt he is talking about the Solo Kromzek quest he is talking about the solo quest that has an easy, medium and hard (cough, cough) version in Skyshrine.

on test the pennant is 100p and requires only 10k faction

Lempo, the easy medium and hard version solo quests in skyshrine ARE given by a kromzek.

he looks likie a droag because he is a kromzek spy using an illusion.

personally i find it distasteful to do gu63 daily quest and not get faction for it, whatever the lore behind the scenes are.

the easiest lore solution (if soe is worried about that) is to simply give faction for name kills in the solo zones, then its not attached to the kromzek quest giver.

the penant is great news. wish it was live already.

    @Venomizer

I had no idea that the guy was a Kromzek is disguise lol.

    @Techno
I think it is going to be 50K on live, and 100p is a reasonable price, but I bet it doesn’t cost more than 50 when it hits live.

required faction on test is going to be lower so people can get it and make sure it doesn’t teleport you to The Lost Village of Kugup, or somewhere else. lol

I think they should keep it at 10K. A ton of us already have max in my guild, but it doesn’t mean that they should make it a pain to travel for guilds that have just started. It’s like 4 quests to get 10K, or mix and match by running zones before you do the quests.
