I truly believe that SOE’s management come out of a Scott Adams comic book.

I cannot believe I am saying this as I LOVE the game itself.. but I think I can see myself cancelling membership when this happens. Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable.

Sums up the situation, I got to say I just sit here and ponder the existence of eq2 going forward. How can the possibly expect to have good will from folks who play eq2, to even want to try eqnext when they continue this kind stuff.

Gotta hand it to Smed’s puppy! He threw a hospital ball to Windstalker and ran for the hills!!!

What a way to treat your paying customers.

Everyone knew SOE didn’t really like European players, but letting the Germans put up a wall in SOE’s virtual space was unexpected.

If i am reading this right, Nothing will change for the Euro players that currently play on an US based server. It is only new accounts or server moves that will be affected ?

So not sure what all the fuss is about.

Only thing is you cant get any new Euro players on the US servers, so as of now they are a dying breed.

If i am reading this right

    You’re not.

U.S. players will not be able to connect to Euro servers. Period. They will be IP address region-locked.

Also, Euro guilds on U.S. servers, of which there are many, will not be able to recruit new players.

Also, anyone who is an expat or U.S. military in Europe will have to simply abandon their accounts when they move back to the U.S. They will not be able to move characters.

Also, SOE has reneged on so many promises, how long do you think Euro players who have been “grandfathered” into playing on U.S. servers will be able to continue doing so?

So not sure what all the fuss is about.

The “fuss” is that SOE keeps making bad decisions that do not benefit players or the game.

SOE has already tried this with EverQuest 1 and Ubisoft in 2003. It was a colossal failure and they ended up merging that server into a regular U.S. server in 2005. Then they turned 2 servers into LiveGamer servers without letting people transfer off. That was extremely unpopular.

If you are “not sure what the fuss is about”, I’d check your pulse cause I think you’re flatlining. 😉

Thanks for the Clarification Feldon, i see now what the fuss is about. And i really hope that SOE does some kind of press webcast to explain this and answer questions.
