GamesRadar Preview: Honvar Dragon Art and Animation for Game Update 63
Steve Merghart, EQII Senior Character Artist and Chris Myers, EQII Senior Animator, show off Honvar, a dragon who will be appearing in the upcoming Game Update 63 this April. Honvar roamed the Western Wastes in the original EverQuest. Steve and Chris are hoping that someone will make a plushie or maybe show up in costume at Fan Faire as Honvar, or as he seems to have been known internally “Lumpy”.

Looks like a monitor with wings lol, but I guess they don’t all have to have long legs and a neck.

They referred to the model as “Lumpy” as an internal name. But the GamesRadar article says Honvar in several places. I realize Honvar was a typical skinny dragon in EQ1.

If that is Western Wastes then I just don’t even have the words to describe how underwhelmed I am. I mean Eastern Wastes was bad enough with its lack of snow but come on. This is Velious; wheres the snow?? Maybe this is Dragon Necropolis; I guess I can hold on to that hope!

I liked the comment by the artist that created him: “we’ll just wait now for someone to make a plushy out of him”. Many a true word spoken in jest!
