Just 84 hours since EQ2U launched, we have some great news to report: We’ve reached 1,000 registrations!

Here are some anonymized statistics about what’s happening at EQ2U:

  • Registered Users: 1,000
  • Unique Items Looked Up: 39,170
  • Unique Characters Looked Up: 23,824
  • Unique Guilds Looked Up: 3,876

And no, we won’t be sharing any more specific data than that about our users. We’re not Facebook. 😉

Awesome site, when we get the option to just block certain aspects of our characters, such as AA’s or alts I will start using it on my characters to keep track of gear and things like that 🙂

You can block Alts now (err, actually they start out blocked, just don’t enable them).

As for the AA’s or other aspects being able to be kept private, I doubt SOE will ever allow us that sort of control. It’s all or nothing – and I don’t think they have any intentions of changing that. Even if EQ2U were to give us that control, other fan sites where your data may be searched (and EQ2Players) may not.

You used to be able to block everyone from viewing your alts and your background, AAs, etc, etc, EXCEPT your guild members. There was an option in the section about who could view your characters (and look up all of your alts) for “Guild Members Only.” Is there any way to do that now the way Sony has this implemented or is this an “All or None” kind of thing (EVERYone can see the alts you choose or everyone cannot).

This was a great feature to keep everything hidden (for those that wanted the privacy for whatever reason) yet still be able to let your guildies keep tabs on you or contact you if necessary. Is this feature possible? if not now, is it possible for YOU to do it or would it have to come from the SOE feed itself? And if it has to come from SoE, who do we give this and other suggestions like that to: You here? Sony in game /feedback? EQ2 website? Anything that would help us, the users, get suggestions and ideas out to the proper people would be great.

Thanks, great work Feldon, Dethdlr, and whoever else helped get this up and running (and yes, I am including the SoE devs /gasp!. They do get SOME things right . . . otherwise, why would I still be playing this game?) I’ve already signed up and I’m loving it. Kudos!

Great Site – awesome tool – you guys did a great job.
Have even used it to look someone up for a Drunder Pug before we accepted him into the grp :).

Anyway you would be able to add a Note field so we we can store some Txt against a character ? (then i can add things in like unlocked War runes and a few notes)

@Variola: Character notes are on my to do list. I want that capability as well. It’ll eventually make it to the top of the list. 🙂

Too bad the items aren’t correct in the EQ2U I’m sure some are, but when you are trying to compare it’s hard to do if stuff like Adamantine Shamshir is coming up incorrectly. The damage listed in the EQ2U isn’t even close to what the in game weapon can really do.

    Ulrich,

If SOE revealed the calculations to us explaining how to take the base minimum and maximum damage of a weapon and modify it by all your stats to get the “real” damage range of your weapon, that would be great! Or if players have figured out the math we could use that too.

I think we’d also have to figure in any AAs that increase weapon damage.

    It’s not easy.

Sorry I guess I didn’t explain well. The number I’m looking at is the base number for the item it’s unchanged no matter which character I have examine the blessed adamantine shamshir (handcrafted). The max damage shows 326 no matter what level character I have examine it, and shows 1314 max damage on the EQ2U item look up. I know the EQ2U relies on information from SOE so it really isn’t anything that can be changed on this side… it just means that EQ2 Players is still displaying incorrect information. EQ2U is a great tool I just wish the information from SOE was correct.

1,760 users have registered for EQ2U without incident. If the registration e-mail did not have a link to complete the registration, we would have received 1,760 e-mails from people unable to complete their registration. We haven’t had a single one.

When I saw a post with a bogus name and a bogus e-mail address claiming that our registration process (which I knew was working fine) was broken, yep, I dragged it to the trash.

If you are serious about resolving this matter, then please send me an e-mail from an actual e-mail address.

Problem: E-mail client stripping out HTML

Solution: I will add a ‘naked’ URL at the bottom of the e-mail for those situations.

Not sure where to ask questions about this now…but have you seen anything that would allow someone to look up what trade skill books they have, much like the spell levels so that they can have a wishlist on needed recipe books?

Recipe books is something I’ve asked about.
