And it’s going to be FTP. Now that’s a shocker. And no word on the AA cap. All I can say is to paraphrase my paladin…”Well eff a zombie.”

No lie, Skipppy. I’ve already cancelled 3 of my accounts. I’ll be cancelled the last 2 active ones in December and probably switching to SWTOR or (if that bombs) just staying with Rift.

Grats SJ on completely boning up this game.

This was the final straw. Do they think we’re stupid? Two accounts cancelled. It’s been a great seven years and I wish you all the best.

Sad thing is, there will still be people that purchase this over priced garbage, hopefully the sales are mediocre and they lower the price to $20. I want to try out a beastlord, but not for $40.

$90 for all the goodies, after preorder? That’s a lot of moolah for a couple of cloaks and a special beastlord pet.

And if you actually want all the dungeon building tools, looks like you have to preorder the $60 expansion ($90 at launch). I thought they wanted to encourage this?

Looks like they haven’t even decided how much the AA limit will be raised yet. Great planning there SOE!

Yeah, Sadly, I just bought 2 of the $60.00 because i reallllly want the dungeon building things. and the wife,. Just had to have the home. I think she already owns all of the prestige homes already :P. At least i’ll have someone to hire when i run through someone else’s dungeon. Heh.

I don’t think F2P will be as bad as you guys are making it out to be. Take a look at DCUO and see the crap loads of people playing that. 180k new players? Sure they might not all be paying customers, but even if 10% of them shell out 5 bucks to become premium that’s more then they have now. And where one shells out once, more will be shelled out in the future.

I don’t think there’s anything I want or need in this expansion. $40 saved, I’ll just keep paying my sub (gold membership now, I guess) and play the game I’ve been playing.

The only reason I am going to get it is the AA’s. Yes I’ve heard horrible rumors like its only added to existing trees and the tradeskill tree, but I would prefer to keep up with AA so I don’t have to play catchup when a decent expansion comes out.

Can we buy with SC (Robin asked, but I didn’t see a response)?

I will purchase, IF they open up a second heroic endline.

Yay! My two favorite games in one! EQ2 and Little Big Planet. One of them I’ve been playing for years, the other I got sick of in days due to player created content. Win win! (kill me now)

whats about player wo cancelled subscribtion to eq2, but had Buyd DoV, with this free to play option, cant use DoV because of F2P? I buyd for nothing?

Sole, if the account is flagged for DoV (which yours is if you bought it), then you can play in DoV as free on that account. Only accounts (new ones mainly) that do not already have it will not get it automatically.

Overall, I have seen F2P games work out well. We’ll see. It definately will raise the revenue of the game, so maybe we can see a bit more attention.

From what I heard is that the AA will be raised 50pts. But that 25 of that is only for crafting AA…? Just what my woman read somewhere.

This is probably the first time our family won’t be preordering the game since launch. $40 is probably twice the value in comparison to other expansions for items that will appeal only to a select variety of people, but most likely not more than 2 or 3 things for everyone. This truly sounds like an expansion that would do much better piece meal on SC to be honest.

its also Irritating everyone is already “needing” on chain armor for alts in raids to boost their future BL’s, and leaving us current poor scouts high and dry. Currently 6 scout types loot on scout chain. 2 classes loot on their heal chain 2 classes for leather and plate each. 2 fighter leather, 4 plate fighters. and 6 classes for cloth. I really have no idea how these drops balance out given content overtime, but i do have friends that have easily geared out brawler classes very quickly for example… They originally wanted to make BL’s leather but apparently decided that would be too much work (i guess cosmetics of the monk classes out weighs just making them a fighter class??).
