Legends of Norrath Producer’s Letter – August 2011

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Uncategorized

Now that some of the dust has settled from Sony Online Entertainment‘s reorganization this spring and with the Denver office (housing Legends of Norrath) consolidation with SOE’s San Diego HQ is complete, Mark Tuttle, Executive Producer for Legends of Norrath, has posted a Producer’s Letter touting the next expansion. We’ve been told to expect ‘smoking hot’ loot, especially if you like mounts and housing.

From the EQ2 Forums (also the LoN Forums):

Greetings Legends of Norrath fans! This is Mark Tuttle, Executive Producer for Legends of Norrath.

First, let me apologize for not speaking with you sooner. Although it’s no excuse, we were extremely busy with the Sony downtime, the transfer of the Denver office (where LON was born) to our new digs here in San Diego, and rebuilding our team. Community has been chatting with you in the forums while we’ve been heads down in design and working on… well, stuff!

That said, I want to assure you that the LON team is gearing up to deliver some exciting new content and within just a few weeks, you’ll see fruits of our labors with our next expansion. The 13th set of Legends of Norrath is entitled Priestess of the Anarchs. This is a continuation of our storyline from Set 11, Dragonbrood of the Anarchs.

And by the way, the loot is smoking hot. Especially if you like mounts… And housing stuff… And other generally cool stuff.

We’ll go into the exact composition of the set shortly, but I can give you a couple of spoilers that will shed some interesting light on the set and the cool new gameplay features that you’ll receive with it. The images below show you a new race, a new keyword, and maybe one of the longest card titles we’ve featured in LON to date. Enjoy!

~Mark

    LoN…
Its just a bad joke in my eyes. Sell things you dont have to print -> money making machine.
I will never forget that they sell cards more then 2 weeks before they let us know that people outside the usa cant paticipe in Tornaments wich include prizes and loot… ridiculous.

some of the Arts are nice. But they are not cause of LoN its because its EQ/EQ2 Art. They should have better put that money in implemanting that kind of Art completely as In Game paintings or making them orderable like they di on the EQArt side with few pictures.

tbh the only interesting thing now in LoN is the loot cards and even there it would be better to put this in as game rewards or if they want to make some extra money to put it in SC. Forcing people to buy this f… card game for items with bad chances to get them is shit.

The internal LoN Marketplace is full in the hand of resellers and Companys that try to rip you off as hard as they can. You will never find any rare item to trade there again except it has been put in the last minute.

Any one want to bet that they was will be: Dragon Mount -> LoN ($$$$) 2 Month later SC ($$$)2-3 Month -> Ingame….maybe.

I like the whole trading card game idea. I just wish the interface were a little easier to use like when looking for random people to play against. They should take a look at Ederon’s interface and implement something like that.
