Kander Asks: What EQ2 Zone Should Get a Heroic Version?
If you follow EQ2 devs on Twitter, this is likely old news to you, but Kyle “Kander” Kyle Vallée has posed some questions:
What #EQII zone would you love to see revamped into new heroic content ?
Note, this would be an alternate version perhaps scaled up to level 90 as a “revisit” zone, just as Nek Castle can be revisited at level 50 and 70. These changes would not affect the original zones. Here are some of his responses:
- Estate of Unrest: “great the way it is”
- Obelisk of Lost Souls: “not a bad idea”.
- Rivervale: “does indeed need some love.”
- Deathfist Citadel: “I think we need to do something “large” with the orcs!”
- Overland Zones: “I was thinking more dungeon-y dungeon content, but I have seen a lot of requests for something in the overland style areas.”
Another question by Kander, this time about Desert of Flames zones:
Favorite zone from Deserts of Flame? Pick one!
The Maj’dul stuff was very cool, so what was your favorite zone overall would you say?
And yet another question, this time from Kander about AoE encounters:
Large AOE encounters can always be fun! What was your second favorite zone? Group content? Raids?
These questions could simply be an interesting exercise, or the seeds for a revamped dungeon in a future update. If you’ve got a Twitter account, by all means you should submit your comments/opinion to Kander’s twitter.

Guk, especially Halls of the fallen, I’d like to see something though with the storyline moved on. Perhaps with some sort of new mechanics/gameplay where we cooperate with the NPC’s rather then just a vanilla dungeon.

I may have to make a twitter account for this….
A Instanced Cross server PQ with 10 lvl increments. Just like the BG’s work know, or like the way I think the Warfield’s work in PvP servers with tears in areas…. But not PvP that is, and cross server using the new BG’s lobby.
Just an idea.

I think Unrest and Ruins of Varsoon would be my favorites. Would have to do something like RE2 and make it very challenging. Any bums can get rolling and get the first few names, but the last few need to feel like you really accomplished something.

I suggested Unrest to him on Twitter. I actually meant a new scaled to 90 version. Unrest is one of my all time favourite zones and it makes me sad that’s it’s so underused now.

Nizara would be fun to be done at level 90, its really challenging zone even at 70.

I would like to see the Sundered Splitpaw zones revamped… had some good stuff there and the zones have been deserted for years now.

Oh yeah! I agree on Sol Eye with a crazy Naggy fight as finale…maybe PQ or double raid difficulty (8x?).
