EQ2Mission: Track Named Mobs for AA

Written by Kwill on . Posted in Guide

Launched in January 2011, this new fan site looks promising for players who would like to track  named mobs for alternate achievement progress and keep track of daily missions.  EQ2Mission will not only keep track of which named mobs you have killed, but suggest others in a zone that you might have missed.

Still a work in progress, the author, Quicktiger on Antonia Bayle, has been steadily growing his database.  The site also promises to track items needed, such as master spells and recipe books, as well as the best food and drink choices for your characters. Quicktiger’s site lists daily missions, with the added ability to view future and past missions. The site requires the user to install a logging client.

That’s really sweet. Not very useful for me since I’ve been playing for years and don’t have all my log files saved, but for a new player serious about getting AA it would be *great*.

Thanks for the very nice write-up!

I was wondering how I suddenly had 10x the traffic, and the number of users went up by 30% since last night. Now I know!

For those who don’t keep log files for every zone you’ve been to, the site is indeed less useful. However, it will learn as you go, so if you get the depressing “You have already been awarded…” message, it will mark those targets off as well.

Now to get back to the day job, so I can get back to this tonight. 🙂

VERY nicely done. I especially like the stuff you’ve added in for developers. Hopefully I’ll get some time soon to fiddle with some of it as well as getting back into posting articles here. Been a bit occupied lately. 🙁
