There were the first 2 screenshots of EQNext which had ever been shown publicly.

UPDATE: The images below have been replaced with much higher quality captures.

I'd guess these are Faydwer and Freeport? The first picture really reminds me of Free Realms. Can't wait to see what else comes out of the next couple of days.

That could be Freeport, but the style of the architecture looks more like a ruined Qeynos to me. If that's the case we're in for some interesting changes.

Surrounding geography isn't right for Qeynos though, cliffs in the background, no moat, etc. Architectural style doesn't match Freeport either, but general layout kinda does... prequel?

My understanding is the next "everquest" will be eq in style but totally new lore they have commented many times that the lore in eq and eq2 have prevented them from doing alot of things they wanted

You know, we really have no idea which time period they will target with this incarnation. Nor do we know how they will interpret the lore into graphics and gameplay. Remember the zone size difference between eq1 and eq2, this is because of different interpretations of lore/design teams aspect of how distances should be felt.

I also remember artworks for armor and zones of EQ2 that, once created in the game, had nothing to do woth the feeling given by the original artwork. So those 2 screens of "EQ Next" are a tear drop in the ocean, that represent nothing at all.

I too thought it looked like free realms at first but looking again it reminds me more of fable 2

Looks like LoTRO to me...

I do not see LoTRo in these pictures, and as someone pointed out concept art is often nothing like released game.

i would hazard a guess that this is one of the many worlds from the shadow odyssey expansion

or if it is on norrath then i'd have to go with butcherblock mountains

First pic seems to me to be a bit of Greater Fay.

My understanding is that it will be similar to EQ1, and taking some of the canon from it, but being a new setup within Norrath.

Should be interesting to see how it gets put together!

Are we going back in time again in this one? Like we did with EQOA? It sure looks like it. The current EQ2 versions of freeport and qeynos look a lot more advanced then the simple village in that last screenshot. It also looks a little bit cartoony. >.>
